Liposuction is a powerful contouring tool but it’s important to understand what it can and cannot do.
In this reel, Dr. Dev explains that while lipo can remove stubborn pockets of fat and refine body contours, it does not address loose skin, muscle separation, or changes in the abdominal wall.
For patients with excess skin, diastasis recti, or other concerns beyond fat distribution, a different approach may be needed to achieve the desired outcome.
The key is choosing the procedure that addresses the actual concern, not just treating the most visible symptom.
A personalized evaluation helps determine whether lipo alone, or a combination of procedures, is the right plan.

Years of surgery, hundreds of cases, & no two stories are ever the same.
Explanting is often the end of a long journey for patients searching for answers, relief, or a return to themselves.
Along the way I’ve seen ruptured implants leaking into surrounding tissue, autoimmune issues, & severe capsular contracture to name a few.
This has led me to meet very resilient patients who have felt an immense sense of clarity after explant.

Your breasts won’t go back to exactly how they looked before implants but that doesn’t mean the outcome isn’t beautiful.
Over time, implants stretch the skin and change the tissue, so the “before implants” version isn’t something we can fully recreate.
What we can do is reshape and support the breast in a way that looks elegant, balanced, and natural to your body today. Through techniques like lifting and tissue redistribution, we create a result that feels like you, just in a different chapter.

What patients don’t always expect after surgery
Swelling can last longer than most anticipate.
Tightness, especially if muscle repair was involved, can take time to fully release.
Fatigue is common as your body directs energy toward healing. And for many patients, there can be emotional ups and downs as everything settles.
None of this means something is wrong, it’s part of the process and healing isn’t linear.

Not all tummy tucks are the same.
From mini tummy tucks for lower abdominal concerns, to full tummy tucks that address muscle separation and excess skin, to extended options for more comprehensive contouring, each technique serves a specific purpose.
Understanding the differences is key to choosing the procedure that will actually give you the result you’re looking for.

Explanting doesn’t have to mean losing shape.
In this before and after, implants were removed and a lollipop lift was performed to reshape the breast using the patient’s existing tissue.
By lifting and redistributing what’s already there, we’re able to maintain fullness while improving position and support.
This is what thoughtful reconstruction can look like after explant.

Not all breast lift scars are the same and neither are the reasons behind them.
Dr. Dev breaks it down on the whiteboard: the difference between a periar**lar (around the ar**la), lollipop (vertical), and anchor (full) lift, and when each one is used.
Scar pattern isn’t a preference, it’s a decision based on how much lift is needed, skin quality, and the starting anatomy.
The goal is always to create the best shape and support for the long term, while placing incisions in areas that heal as discreetly as possible over time.

Can you build muscle after a tummy tuck? Short answer: yes, but timing and technique matter.
In this reel, Dr. Dev explains how a tummy tuck doesn’t remove your ability to strengthen your core.
In fact, when the abdominal muscles are repaired during surgery, it can actually create a stronger foundation to build from.
That said, recovery comes first.
Your body needs time to heal before returning to workouts, especially anything that engages the core.
Gradual progression is key, starting with light movement and working your way back to strength training under guidance.
Once fully healed, patients can absolutely train, build muscle, and maintain an active lifestyle.
