Today I was trying to teach Liam how to float, and I was reminded that learning to float starts long before a child lets go of their body. It starts when they let go into trust. 💙
Before any learning happened, we played. We connected. I let him explore the water in his own way, at his own pace. I followed his lead, listened to him, and gave him the space to feel safe and in control.
When a child feels seen, heard, and safe, they trust. And when they trust, they relax. When they relax, they learn.
Children don’t learn best through force, pressure, or fear. They learn through connection. Through patience. Through play. Through love. ❤️ I’m proud of us today.
