My baby mama’s second baby daddy has been going through it for a minute. Life hit him hard, and after losing his place, he was sleeping on couches and doing whatever he could just to stay afloat. A lot of people turned their back on him when he needed help the most.

A few weeks ago, we were talking and he told me he was finally getting back on his feet and had found a place of his own. The only problem was after paying the deposit and first month’s rent, he barely had anything left. No bed, no couch, no TV… nothing.

I could hear the frustration in his voice, but he kept saying, “I’ll figure it out somehow.”

That didn’t sit right with me.

So without telling him, I went shopping and picked up some things to help him get started. Nothing crazy, just enough to make his new place actually feel like home.

When I showed up, he looked at me like I had lost my mind. He kept saying, “Bro, you ain’t have to do all this.”

I told him, “Yeah, I did. At the end of the day, our kids are siblings, and if you’re good, that means their family is good too.”

One thing about me, I don’t believe in tearing people down. If I can help somebody get back on their feet, I’m gonna do it. Especially when it comes to people connected to my kids.

Moral of the story: Helping someone win doesn’t take anything away from your own success. 💯🤞🏾

My baby mama, I know things ain’t been easy for you. You been doing everything you can to take care of our daughter, even when you didn’t have much help.

When our daughter told us how embarrassed she felt not having her own space and having to share a crowded apartment, it hit me hard. No child should have to feel like that.

That’s why I told you she could come stay with me. I’ll handle everything financially and make sure she has what she needs. All I ask is that you keep being the great mother you’ve always been.

Seeing her walk into her own room for the first time and watching that smile come across her face made it all worth it. That moment meant everything.

No matter what life throws at us, when it comes to our kids, we gotta have each other’s backs. At the end of the day, we’re family, and I’ll always look out for you and our daughter. ❤️

Sometimes being a real parent means putting pride, differences, and personal issues aside to do what’s best for the child. When adults work together, kids win every time. ❤️
