Written for readers ages five to nine, the book follows a boy named Sam as he observes his city and notices opportunities for improvement, including a scene where he sees a wheelchair user blocked by a sidewalk barrier. The story introduces young readers to the basics of urban planning and shows how small, intentional observations can lead to more accessible, connected communities. A free digital edition is available under a Creative Commons license, with a low cost print edition offered for classrooms, libraries, and community programs.

Juan Mullerat joined EntreArchitect for a conversation with host Mark R. LePage, whose community supports small firm entrepreneur architects. They talked shop on what it takes to build a firm that lasts, from the business side to the creative side, drawing on Plusurbia's years of experience. The City of Hollywood unanimously approved the Industrial Area Redevelopment Program master plan, developed by Plusurbia in partnership with EXP, BusinessFlare, the community, and city staff.

The plan builds on an in depth review of current site conditions and months of resident input. It protects the district's industrial character while opening the door to new investment, improved parking and mobility, and green infrastructure upgrades.

As resident leader Nadine McCrea shared, the goal is to enhance the area's appearance, safety, and function, while keeping its identity as a true Warehouse District.

This framework will guide short, mid, and long term planning and investment for the area ahead.

Juan Mullerat, Founding Principal at Plusurbia, will join a panel titled Designing Resilient Waterfront Cities: Danish and Floridian Perspectives on Waterfront Development and Urban Design, on September 4 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the University of Miami, Glasgow Hall.

Juan will be joined by H.E. Jesper Møller Sørensen, Ambassador of Denmark to the United States, Jakob Norman-Hansen of Bloxhub, and Deborah Tackett, Planning Director of the City of Miami Beach, with Jose A. Gelabert-Navia moderating. The conversation will explore how waterfront cities like Copenhagen and Miami are designing for resilience, connectivity, and people-centered growth.

Every August, school buses and morning drop off lines return to neighborhood streets, and so does the question every parent asks. Can my child walk to school safely?

Last week, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava convened community stakeholders to discuss the Ludlam Trail, a 5.6-mile shared-use path planned to connect neighborhoods, schools, parks, and transit stops across the county.
