During a high-level event of the UN General Assembly in New York, the discussion focused on how stronger cooperation with the private sector can turn political commitments into concrete progress and make the digital world safer for everyone.

Hope Pyx Global collaborated with Mandarin Center of the Universities of St. Thomas and Wenzao Ursuline on human trafficking prevention commemorating UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime World Day against Trafficking in Persons.

It is our honor to present this article in association with Hope Pyx Global and WFUNA, organizations committed to raise awareness of trafficking in persons and strengthen efforts to prevent and combat all forms of trafficking in persons, while promoting and protecting the rights of victims. This article explains what human trafficking is, how victims may be tricked, and how we can recognize possible warning signs. By learning more about this issue, we can become more aware and help create a safer community for everyone.

UNODC held the Constructive Dialogue on Technical Assistance & International Cooperation.

The Constructive Dialogue explored topics related to the following topics of the 17th meeting of the Working Group of Government Experts on Technical Assistance and the 17th Meeting of the Working Group on International Cooperation.

Why the SDG Report 2026 Is the Most Urgent Wake-Up Call for Global Development - Other News - Voices against the tide East and South Asian countries have made the strongest progress on UN Sustainable Development Goals since 2015, with India and China leading major economies. However, only 16% of SDG targets will be met by 2030, with implementation failures blamed on inadequate financing, governance, and data use.

Today, UNODC held the Constructive Dialogue on the Smuggling of migrants, in accordance with paragraph 53 of the Procedures and rules for the functioning of the UNTOC review mechanism in Vienna.

This year, the substantive topics for the meeting were:
-Strengthening whole-of-route and integrated transnational approaches to the smuggling of migrants
-Exchange of information in smuggling of migrants’ cases: how to better delineate and improve the exchange of relevant information.

Today, the 5th UNODC Constructive Dialogue on Trafficking in Persons is taking place in Vienna.

Under this agenda item, the Constructive Dialogue will explore topics related to the following topics of the 16th meeting of the Working Group on Trafficking in Persons:
- Combating trafficking in persons in relation to scam centres; and
- Use of artificial intelligence in trafficking in persons, and related challenges in response.

Observed each April since 1981, challenges all of us to confront and remove barriers to achieving justice for victims and survivors of crime.

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe convened the 26th Conference of the Alliance against Trafficking in Persons, titled “The Rise of Forced Criminality: Addressing a Security Blind Spot,” bringing together international leaders, policymakers, law enforcement, and civil society to confront one of the fastest-growing and most underrecognized forms of human trafficking.

Forced criminality—where individuals are coerced into committing crimes such as drug trafficking, theft, fraud, and cyber-enabled offenses—is rapidly increasing across the region. Data presented at the conference shows that identified victims of forced criminality rose dramatically from just over 1% in 2018 to 17% in 2024, underscoring an alarming trend that is outpacing current protection and prosecution responses.

Participants emphasized that forced criminality challenges traditional distinctions between victims and offenders, often resulting in victims being wrongfully criminalized while traffickers evade accountability. By fostering dialogue, sharing best practices, and advancing strategies, the Alliance Conference aimed to strengthen global efforts to protect victims, dismantle trafficking networks, and address forced criminality as a pressing human rights and security issue.
