A once-a-year reminder may no longer fit your website’s security certificate.

Publicly trusted TLS certificates issued since March 15, 2026 have a maximum validity of 200 days.

That means a certificate can need renewal well before the annual date your business remembers.

For a client portal or business website, a missed renewal can put a browser warning between your customer and their next step.

Ask your provider whether renewal is automated and how failed renewals are detected.

If the answer is unclear, message us.

Your dashboard opens perfectly.

That doesn’t tell you when the numbers last updated.

Power BI can deactivate scheduled refresh after repeated failures. The report may still be available while the information behind it falls further behind.

Before your next Q4 planning meeting, look beyond the chart. Check the last successful refresh and confirm who receives failure notifications.

A polished report needs a visible freshness check before it supports a staffing, spending, or capacity decision.

If nobody monitors that part of your reporting, message us.

That brochure you update every year may need attention before October.

Microsoft says Microsoft 365 subscribers will lose access to Publisher after October 1, 2026. If your business keeps newsletters, forms, or marketing materials in Publisher, locate those files now.

Save copies you can view, and move regularly edited templates into a supported application. Check the layout after conversion because it may change.

The goal is to have next month’s materials ready to update when someone needs them.

Still using Publisher? Message us about preparing the transition.

You covered a client’s account number with a black rectangle. Is the information actually gone?

Drawing over text in a PDF can leave the original content underneath.

The document looks ready to send while still containing information your firm intended to remove.

Proper redaction removes the selected content. Checking for hidden information is another part of preparing the final file.

Before the next document leaves your law or accounting firm, make sure the team knows which process they’re using.

For help tightening that workflow, message us.

VERIFY BEFORE YOU PAY

Wire fraud often starts with an email that looks normal.

A vendor says their banking details changed.

A client asks for an urgent transfer.

An executive sends a rushed payment request.

That is how business email compromise works.

The message feels familiar, the timing feels urgent, and the mistake happens before anyone slows down to verify it.

When money is involved, trust should never come from the email alone.

Bank changes, wire instructions, and payment requests should always be confirmed through a separate step.

Because one unchecked message can lead to a very real loss.

If you want help building stronger payment verification workflows and reducing wire fraud risk, message us.

A website asks your employee to prove they’re human.

Then it tells them to open a system window and paste a command.

That is the moment to stop.

In a ClickFix attack, the verification screen tricks someone into running harmful instructions themselves. It can look like a routine step between your team and the information they need.

Give employees one clear rule: a website asking them to run commands needs IT review before they continue.

If your team wouldn’t recognize that request, message us.

EMAIL IS NOT ALWAYS THE RIGHT PLACE

A lot of sensitive files still move through ordinary email because it feels fast and familiar.

Client records.
Legal documents.
Financial information.
Internal approvals.

But familiar is not the same as secure, especially when the business has no clear standard for how sensitive files should be shared.

Better security often starts with better habits.

If your team needs a safer and simpler way to share important files, message us.

THE MOST POWERFUL DEVICE IN THE OFFICE

Sometimes the riskiest device in a business is the one used by the owner, partner, or firm leader.

It has the highest access.

The most sensitive information.

And often the fewest limits because everyone assumes it needs to stay flexible.

Leadership devices deserve more protection, not less.

Because if the most powerful account gets compromised, the impact spreads fast.

If you want help securing executive and partner-level access without getting in the way of work, message us.

THAT EMAIL ALMOST LOOKED RIGHT

Impersonation emails work because they are close enough to feel normal.

A familiar name.
A similar address.
A rushed request.

That is often all it takes to create confusion, especially in offices where people move quickly and trust familiar communication patterns.

Email security is not just blocking spam.

It is reducing the chance that a believable fake gets treated like the real thing.

If you want help strengthening your defenses against spoofing and impersonation, message us.

WHO STILL HAS ACCESS?

Guest access piles up quietly.

Outside counsel, consultants, vendors, former collaborators, and one-time partners may still have access to shared folders, documents, or team spaces long after the work is done.

That does not always happen because someone made a bad decision.

It often happens because no one went back to clean it up.

Security improves when cleanup becomes part of the process.

If you want help reviewing outside access across your systems, message us.
