Sunset Elementary PTA

Our first ever Costume Drive was Spooktacular so, we’re doing it again!🕷️🧡♻️

Kids grow FAST… but costumes don’t! 😂

Have a costume hiding in the back of the closet that’s too small, barely worn, or ready for a new adventure? We want it! 👑🦸‍♂️🧙‍♀️

The PTA Green Committee is collecting new and gently used costumes to help reduce waste, and keep perfectly good costumes out of the landfill! All while making your superhero, princess, athlete, character, or spooky creature Halloween extra special. 🦸‍♀️🧚‍♂️👑

Before the long weekend we wanted to thank you for your patience this morning. We know how stressful it was for everyone and wanted to share an alternative perspective. The PTA was on campus for Friday Out Front, which was cancelled by 7:45 because of the thunder and lightning. ☔️

The storm came on at such an unfortunate time, but what we personally saw were teachers, admin, custodians, security, safety patrols and PTA members focused on keeping the kids safe and dry. Many children were personally escorted inside and comforted if they were scared.

The car line and main gate also stayed open longer as everyone adjusted to the situation and NO late passes were given because of the storm.

It was definitely a challenging morning, but from what we witnessed, everyone was doing their best to keep our kids safe and happy. So grateful, for this wonderful community. We hope everyone has a happy and dry Labor Day weekend! 💙

✨ There’s always a little magic over Sunset! ✨

Happy Independence Day, Sunset Family! 🇺🇸

This year is an extra special celebration as America marks its 250th birthday, a historic milestone honoring the birth of our nation and the freedoms we celebrate today.

The photos in this post were taken in May, when our very own Safety Patrols had the incredible opportunity to participate in special events in both the nations capital and Virginia, the place where so much of America’s history began and many of our nation’s founding ideas took shape.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙

As another school year comes to an end, I want to wish all of our Sunset Elementary families a happy, safe, and relaxing summer!

Today, watching our 5th graders celebrate, hug their friends, and shed a few tears as they said goodbye reminded us just how special Sunset Elementary really is. Congrats to all of you, we know you will continue to make Sunset proud wherever the future takes you. The love, friendships, memories, and sense of belonging that have been built here over the years is something truly unique.

We are so fortunate to be part of a community that supports one another, lifts each other up, and always puts our children first. From our amazing teachers and dedicated staff to our wonderful families and volunteers, Sunset is a place filled with so much love.

Thank you for making this school year so memorable. We are grateful for each and every student, parent, teacher, and staff member who makes our school the special place it is.

Wishing everyone a summer filled with fun, laughter, and cherished family moments. We can’t wait to see you again next school year!

XOXO,

Your Sunset Elementary PTA ❤️
