Imagine if success were measured by how well children were raised, how respectfully elders were treated, how strong families remained & how connected communities felt.
Instead, we measure nearly everything by money, status, power, profit, and productivity.
We built a society where people sacrifice their health, families, and time to prove they’re successful.
Then we wonder why everyone feels exhausted, isolated, and unfulfilled.

You can set a boundary without getting someone to agree with it. Be clear about what you'll accept. Then follow through when the same behavior shows up again.
Keep going.

Humans were habitually using mind-altering plants as far back as 25,000 years ago, pushing back the history of drug use by millennia.
Long before the advent of agriculture, prehistoric hunter-gatherers in Indonesia were already chasing a mild high. Researchers examining rare Ice Age skeletal remains from the island of Sulawesi discovered deep, rounded grooves in the teeth of individuals dating as far back as 25,000 years ago.
This unusual wear points to a habitual practice of sucking on whole, abrasive betel nuts—the seeds of the areca palm, which release a stimulant inducing mild euphoria and alertness.
To confirm the ancient habit's efficacy, scientists tested the seeds using artificial saliva, proving that simply sucking on an intact betel nut releases enough active compound to trigger a physiological effect.
This discovery represents the oldest direct evidence of habitual plant drug use ever recorded, rewriting the timeline of human substance use. Biochemical testing confirmed the presence of arecoline, the psychoactive compound in betel nuts, embedded in the ancient dental tissues. While the habit likely began as a way to numb severe toothache pain, the prolonged wear eventually exposed sensitive dental pulp. As betel nut remains the world's fourth most popular psychoactive substance today behind only caffeine, ni****ne, and alcohol, this study reveals that humanity's complex relationship with addiction and self-medication is deeply rooted in our prehistoric past.

While most six-year-olds were beginning primary school, Joshua Beckford was taking on coursework created for gifted children several years older. His father, Knox Daniel, contacted Oxford after discovering that the online programme normally accepted children between eight and 13.
Oxford reportedly made an exception, allowing Joshua to study philosophy and history at only six years old. He completed both subjects with distinction, despite being two years younger than the programme’s stated minimum age.
Joshua, who is autistic, had shown unusual learning abilities from early childhood and was later educated at home. Although viral posts often call him Oxford’s youngest-ever student, he completed a special online course rather than enrolling as a conventional undergraduate, and Oxford has not publicly confirmed an official age record.
What were you learning when you were six years old?

Peace is not something we can ask God to pour over patterns we refuse to change.
Because Christian families are not facing one emergency…
Their internal alarms are being triggered from morning until night by what they rehearse in their minds, consume on their screens, eat and drink, breathe in their homes, and tolerate in their schedules.
And the hard truth is that you control these triggers.
You see, the problem is not that your body has an alarm. (God designed it to protect you).
The problem is living as though that alarm must stay on all day.
You can love Jesus, pray sincerely, and still be overstimulated, undernourished, sleep-deprived, emotionally depleted, and running on caffeine and blood sugar spikes.
That does not mean prayer is powerless.
It means following Jesus also requires us to bring our habits, homes, thoughts, and bodies under His Lordship.
Romans 12 does not separate the body from the mind.
We present our bodies to God and are transformed by the renewing of our minds.
This is why nervous system healing cannot be reduced to one breathing exercise, supplement, or popular technique.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is lower your voice, slow the pace of your home, turn off the screen, eat a nourishing meal, go to bed, repair after losing your temper, or stop forcing a serious conversation when everyone is exhausted.
The Bible shows us the way back.
Regulation is the skill. Capacity is what we build. Resilience is the fruit.

🚨 THE SYSTEM DIDN’T GET THERE FIRST. HER FATHER DID.
Lavaca County. June 9, 2012.
A 23-year-old father. A five-year-old. A ranch hand named Jesus Mora Flores.
Grand jury: no bill.
Texas law already wrote the rest.
Here’s the part they really don’t want you connecting…
This is not a new case and the courtroom in the graphic is art. The file is old and public. Flores, 47, was helping with horses near Shiner. A witness saw the girl taken toward a remote spot. The father ran toward the screaming. Investigators said he struck the man in the head and neck with his hands — no weapon. The girl went to a hospital. Forensics and witnesses lined up with what he told 911: he had beaten a man he found attacking his daughter. The tape is the part that still does the work. He is yelling at a dispatcher who cannot find the ranch. “This guy is going to die on me.” June 19: District Attorney Heather McMinn and Sheriff Micah Harmon announce the grand jury declined to indict. Deadly force to stop a sexual assault is justified in that statute. They never booked the father. They investigated a homicide and then closed the book.
I’ve watched every decade recycle this as a referendum on vigilantism. It is not a theory. It is a no-bill under a law that already chose the child over the man on the ground. You can want a trial for every death and still hear that 911 call. You can want the state to be the only fist and still notice the state was minutes and miles away. The girl is why they hid the father’s name. The statute is why they did not hide the outcome. The system arrived with a recorder. He arrived with his hands. That is the whole ugly file. Not a cowboy movie. A county that looked at the evidence and walked away.
What’s YOUR take on this?
A father the law already authorized… or a country that only cheers this when the victim is young enough?
