"The Choice is Yours" (Spivey's 7 Train Flip), by DJ Spivey track by DJ Spivey

"The Choice is Yours" was a huge Hip-Hop record way back in 1991 by the funky group Black Sheep. They sampled Johnny Hammond Smith and created this catchy anthem full of energy. I was living in Atlanta at the time and we would literally play this at house parties and try to break the floor on the "engine engine number 9" part. Enjoy...

What more can be said about the legendary Chaka Khan. I have been in love with her singing voice since I was a young kid. I love the way she takes her songs to "The Bridge" she does it like no other. I've been remixing her stuff for a few years now and her songs sound so good on the dance floor. This package two of my unreleased edits until now: "Any Love" and "I'm Every Woman." Enjoy...

Get used to hearing it. "House Music" in Las Vegas! That's right, thanks to Chicago native DJ's: Deejay Alicia and G-Whip Soulful House is and will be a staple in the city of Vegas.

A couple of weeks ago we had a "Detroit Meets Vegas" weekend and it was absolutely incredible. Three full days of friends, fun, good food and bangin' music from Wayne Williams from The Chosen Few, along with Detroit's "Mayor of House" Bruce Bailey along with some of the best DJ's in the game. I'm already looking forward to next years festivities in 2027.

I played twice during the weekend, a Saturday night rooftop gig along with a Sunday afternoon pool party at the host hotel. This mix was inspired by the weekend... Enjoy!!!

Here’s my “80’s Pic!” (No AI) 😉 In my apartment in Detroit back in the late 1980’s, being heavily influenced by the homies making Techno at the time. Their sound was and is so innovative and exciting. Fun times… 💯 . . . . . . . #djspivey #throwbackthursday #1980s #music #313
