1. Leaping past the basket, Kobe releases a behind-the-back pass to Shaq for an easy dunk. They’re the only Lakers visible against five Indiana defenders, and sometimes the pair of superstars seemed to be all the Lakers needed. 3. Norm Nixon, a six-foot-two inch guard from Duquesne, PA drives against John Duren of the Utah Jazz. Nixon averaged a consistent 17 points per game over six seasons with the Lakers. After the 1982–83 season, he was traded to the San Diego Clippers in a deal that brought his replacement, Byron Scott, to Los Angeles.

5. Lakers center Chamberlain soars above the rim to block a shot by Bob Dandridge of the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1971 NBA Western Conference finals. The Bucks, led by guard Oscar Robertson and center Kareem, defeated the Lakers in five games. A year later, the Lakers won the first of their dozen NBA titles in Los Angeles.
