Crane Stance looks simple—until you break down the details.

One of the most common mistakes is treating each movement as a separate step.

✅ Turn the body first.
✅ Lift the knee and rotate the supporting foot simultaneously.
✅ Establish the Crane Stance and chamber at the same time.

The timing doesn’t have to be perfect right away, but the goal is synchronization. When everything happens together, the movement becomes more balanced, efficient, and powerful.

Sometimes improving a technique isn’t about moving faster—it’s about making the right movements happen at the right time.

A lesson for every Poomsae athlete.

After a competition, I definitely felt :

“I performed much better in practice.”

Nerves can be a factor, but this tournament reminded me of something even more important: the value of a proper warm-up.

I felt prepared and ready to compete. Then the schedule was unexpectedly delayed for nearly two hours.

During that time, my body cooled down, my rhythm disappeared, and small mistakes started to appear—mistakes that normally wouldn’t happen.

In Poomsae, it’s often not the big mistakes that cost you. It’s the accumulation of small ones.

As athletes, we don’t just need to train our techniques. We also need to train our ability to manage delays, maintain focus, and bring our bodies back to competition readiness when things don’t go according to plan.

This experience was a valuable reminder for me.

I’m sharing this video so that I never repeat the same mistake again.

Every setback is feedback. I’ll take this lesson, prepare better, and come back stronger for the next competition.

The reason you must Keep going!

⏳ Hourglass Core Challenge ⏳

The principle is simple:

✅ Touch the floor✅ Stand up using only your obliques❌ No momentum

The goal is to build real oblique strength while improving core control and stability.

When you reach your limit, use the bar for assistance and squeeze out a few more reps.

A stronger core. A more sculpted waist. One rep at a time. 🔥

Try it for yourself and see how many reps you can do with perfect control.

Why I Still Compete

Competition is not about medals for me.

Of course, personal achievement is rewarding, but that’s not what keeps me coming back.

I compete because it gives me a goal. A reason to train, stay healthy, build discipline, and maintain good habits. The pressure and excitement of competition create an environment that pushes me to become better—not just as an athlete, but as a person.

I also compete because my students compete.

I want to experience the same nerves, challenges, victories, and disappointments they face. As an instructor, I believe I should lead from the front, not from the sidelines.

At the recent East Open, I earned 3rd place. While it wasn’t the result I was hoping for, it was a valuable reminder to stay humble, let go of my ego, and continue learning.

That’s what competition does.

It teaches gratitude when you win and humility when you don’t.

So no, I don’t compete for medals.

I compete to stay healthy.
I compete to keep growing.
And I compete to live the lessons I teach every day.

Fall 7 Times, Get Up 8.
