Beginning July 1st, a new Virginia law will seal the criminal records of many people convicted of low-level offenses.
âMy thought is, this is a country of second chances, and if youâve earned that second chance, then you deserve it,â George Townsend, founder of the law firm Clean Slate Virginia, told Arlington Now. âOnce youâve gone a certain amount of time, these convictions shouldnât stop you from employment the rest of your life.â
