On Thursday, the Midlothian Ruritan Club held its annual scholarship awards ceremony. Dedicated to community service and improvement, one of our favorite events each year is recognizing local students in July.
Throughout the year, the Club raises funds through events like Brunswick Stew and Christmas Tree sales to support civic projects and community initiatives. This year, we were proud to award seven $1,000 scholarships to students beginning or continuing their college education. The Club also supports local trade and nursing programs.
Congratulations to all seven recipients, and best wishes as they continue their educational journeys.

On Thursday, the Midlothian Ruritan Club was pleased to welcome Delegate Ware to our meeting. Delegate Ware provided a nonpartisan update on recent legislative activity, discussed the issues and constitutional amendments that will appear on the November ballot, and shared insights on several key topics affecting the Commonwealth.
We sincerely appreciate Delegate Ware taking the time to meet with our members and for providing an informative and engaging discussion.

Last week, members of the Midlothian Ruritan Club had the privilege of participating in the annual Flags on the Hill ceremony at the Virginia War Memorial.
Our members helped place flags across the hillside in honor of the brave Virginians who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our nation’s freedom. It was a meaningful opportunity to remember their courage, reflect on their service, and pay tribute to those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy today.
We are honored to take part in this special tradition and will never forget the sacrifices of our fallen heroes.
