What began with one little girl saying yes, has grown into something much bigger.❤️
At just six years old, Halle Porter organized a donation of Barbie dolls for girls in foster care. Her simple act of compassion became Halle’s Heroes…an ongoing effort to meet practical needs for children and families.
Recently, Halle’s heroes helped a family welcome a new foster placement by providing a swing set, clothes, shoes, toy boxes, and other essentials.
Halle story reminds us that you don’t have to do everything, you just have to be willing to do something. When one person says yes, it inspires other to give, serve, and show up for children who need to know they are cared for.

A day in the life of a foster parent… but make it realistic because it turns out capturing a “day in the life” is a little difficult when you’re busy living it. 😅
There are appointments, work, soccer games, snack requests, phone calls, paperwork, big feelings, unexpected changes, and probably reheating your coffee a couple of times.
It can be chaotic. It can be exhausting. And it can be incredibly meaningful. ❤️
But foster parents shouldn’t have to do it alone. They need a community willing to step into the chaos and walk alongside them.

Today, we remember.
We remember the lives lost on September 11, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward those who needed help.
May this day remind us to look for those who are hurting, protect the vulnerable, and choose compassion when others need it most. We honor the past by remembering and by continuing to care for one another. 🇺🇸

Persistence pays off! 🙌
For the past few years, Crossroads Church has carried a desire to launch an orphan care ministry. This Sunday, that vision became a reality!
God has been moving, and now Crossroads has support ministries in place to serve 9 families who are interested in or are currently fostering and adopting.
That means more than 20 children could be fostered or adopted through this one church. ❤️🏡
This is what can happen when a church says yes. Not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can do something.
Crossroads Church is helping move us one step closer to seeing more families waiting for children than children waiting for families.

This Labor Day, we honor the hard work that strengthens our families, churches, and communities. 🇺🇸
And we’re reminded that some of the most important work happens quietly every day.
Opening a home. Supporting a foster family. Mentoring a young person. Providing for a family in crisis. Standing up for a vulnerable child.
There is still work to be done for hurting children, and every one of us can have a part.
