Dances With Wool

It's always exciting when a brand-new yarn hits the shop, and this is one we've been anticipating! Shop favorite Blue Sky Fibers has expanded their Woolstok line with a new base: Tweed Light! Soft and lofty, this single ply, fi*****ng weight fine highland wool yarn is full of character. These 50g hanks are available in earthy colors with neutral flecks of Donegal. Great for colorwork, cables, ribbing, and textured stitches. As usual, Blue Sky has great pattern support, including the FREE Timeless Tweed Hat by Michael Vloedman (takes just one skein of Woolstok Tweed Light)! It’s about all of you who have supported us, encouraged us, stitched with us, and helped make these ten years possible. This celebration belongs to you, too, and we can’t wait to celebrate together! We're kicking off our month-long 10th anniversary celebration with a party! Our next trunk show is going to be amazing - we're so delighted to welcome Camellia Fiber Company to Dances for the first time! Camellia hand-dyes yarn in small batches for knitters, crafters, and dreamers. Their colors are thoughtfully created to inspire creativity and timeless pieces. Silbia has sent a stunning variety of luxurious bases including merino, alpaca, silk, yak, and more! This is a show you won't want to miss, in-store only September 18-26!

The next meeting of our new Low Stimulus Stitch Group is coming up this Sunday, September 13 from 4-6PM! This group is for those whose social battery is running low, or who feel overwhelmed in high social situations. No talking needed! Grab your project, a folding chair (just in case), beverage of choice and your earbuds - load up your audiobook, favorite music, or podcast and stitch away!

We want this space to be as inviting and inclusive as possible for those who need quieter support in their making, or anyone who's looking for a distraction-free environment to get some serious progress in. As such, we have a few guidelines for this stitch group:

The shop is open for the first 15 minutes of the group, if you need to grab any yarns/notions. While the shop is open, people are encouraged to greet each other, share progress on their projects, and settle in for the afternoon.

At 4:15 the shop will close, and earbuds go in for everyone to concentrate.

If you need help from friends or want to ask questions, we ask that you step into our classroom space and shut the door to respect the quiet vibe of the stitch group.

Come on out and join us this Sunday to enjoy some peace & quiet while having fun in the company of your fellow makers!
