It’s National Recovery Month!

"You’re worth the work." 💚

Today, we stand with our Veterans and military community as we celebrate National Recovery Month. Recovery is a courageous journey, but you never have to walk it alone. To every warrior working through mental health challenges, trauma, or substance misuse: your strength inspires us, and your story matters.

Reach out, support a fellow Veteran, and remember asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

💛 Honoring the Ultimate Sacrifice This Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day 💛

Today, on Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day

we pause to honor the families of the fallen heroes who gave everything for our country.

From one warrior heart to another, we recognize that the heaviest burdens of service are often carried by those who wait at home. The deepest wounds are those left by the absence of a hero.

You are never alone in your grief.

The Healing Warrior Heart community stands with you in remembrance, gratitude, and enduring solidarity.

Living overseas doesn’t mean you’re out of reach. 🇺🇸🌎

Veterans living outside the U.S. can still access immediate support when it’s needed. If you or a Veteran you know is struggling, you don’t have to face it alone.

📞 Dial 988, then Press 1 to connect with the Veterans Crisis Line.

And remember sometimes support starts with simply reaching out. Check in. Listen. Be there. ❤️

Connection can be a powerful part of su***de prevention. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Research shows that LGBTQ+ Veterans with transgender-related diagnoses experienced unadjusted su***de death rate of approximately 82 per 100,000 person-years over the 10-year study period. This highlights the importance of recognizing risk factors and strengthening access to connection, support, and community.

Sometimes prevention begins with something simple: checking in, listening without judgment, and helping someone feel that they belong.

At Healing Warrior Hearts, we believe healing happens in community.

From finding healing to helping others find theirs. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

For years, Sky’s story has been one of resilience, service, and finding a way forward. After experiencing the deep impact of being discharged under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” Sky found Healing Warrior Hearts and discovered a place where they could be heard, accepted, and begin to heal.

Today, Sky continues to serve and gives back as a mentor at Healing Warrior Hearts retreats, helping create the same safe and supportive space that made such a difference in their own journey.

Now, Sky will be co-leading our LGBTQ+ Veteran Retreat on October 23–25.

If you’re an LGBTQ+ Veteran or service member looking for connection, understanding, and a community where you can simply be yourself, we welcome you.

You don’t have to carry it alone.

When Veterans Carry Silent Burdens, Community Matters. ❤️
Veterans may carry struggles that aren’t always visible including within the faith communities they call home.

As Buddy Check Week begins September 21–25, let’s remember that connection can start with something simple: reach out, check in, and let a Veteran know they don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.

Faith communities can play an important role in helping Veterans feel seen, supported, and less alone. Watch for changes in behavior, mood, sleep, substance
use, or signs of hopelessness. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and start the conversation.

At Healing Warrior Hearts, we believe no one should have to carry the invisible wounds of military service alone. Healing can begin when we create spaces where Veterans feel safe enough to be heard, supported, and welcomed home. ❤️

This Buddy Check Week, who will you check in on?

Sometimes, a simple check-in can mean more than we realize. ❤️
During Buddy Check Week, we’re reminded of the power of connection within the Veteran and military community. A call. A text. A visit. Sometimes, simply asking, “How are you doing?” can open the door to hope and remind someone that they don’t have to carry everything alone.

Join us for this special webinar featuring Dr. Carla Stumpf-Patton of TAPS Institute for Hope and Healing® as we talk about the importance of connection and peer support and how reaching out can be life-saving.
