๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ AUGUST 15 - WE HONOR ALL OUR MARTYRS - RALLY OUTSIDE OF WISCONSIN STATE FAIR ๐Ÿฎ

Today marks one year since Anas al-Sharifโ€™s martyrdom and his final message โ€” โ€œI entrust you with Palestineโ€ฆ I entrust you not to be silenced by chains, nor held back by borders.โ€ In response, the PYM announced a global week of action and Milwaukee is responding with a rally outside of Wisconsin State Fair.

๐Ÿ“† Saturday, August 15
๐Ÿ•ฆ 11:30AM - 1:00PM
๐Ÿ“ Meeting location at West Allis City Hall: 7525 W Greenfield Ave, West Allis, WI 53214
๐Ÿ“ฃ Rally location: at the corner of 76th & Greenfield Ave.
๐ŸšŽ Bus routes 18 & 33 get you directly to our meeting spot.
๐Ÿ’งWater and some snacks will be available.
๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš— TRANSPORTATION: State Fair opens at 10AM and we expect parking to be difficult to find. Please plan ahead to allow enough time to arrive, find parking, and walk to the meeting location. We strongly encourage carpooling and/or taking the bus. If you're interested in carpooling with other attendees, please DM us and we'll do our best to connect you with a carpool.

We will gather outside the fair grounds to raise the voice of Palestine, to educate our neighbors about the zionist practice of targeting journalists, and to expose Western media complicity in the genocide.

Join us as we honor Anas and all of the 309+ martyred journalists in Palestine, Lebanon and the region.

The murder of journalists is an intentional attempt to silence the voices of truth who expose the continued crimes of the Zionist entity. In the face of this reality, the ongoing genocide, escalations against Palestinians in the West Bank and the silence of Western press, it is our responsibility to carry Anasโ€™ call forward and be the voices of truth, fighting for Palestine until total liberation.

For these reasons, Milwaukee4Palestine has continued pressuring the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the Shepherd Express to end their genocide denial and complicity in these war crimes through their biased, zionist-first reporting.

We encourage you to sign our petition to the Shepherd today at bit.ly/shepherdexpress, and to visit entrustedwithpalestine.com to send a pre-drafted letter to fifty-six newsroom editors at mainstream media outlets.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ” MPD SURVEILS PRO-PALESTINE RESIDENTS ON BEHALF OF LOCKHEED MARTIN - PART 1 OF 2 ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ

A recent FOIA request and article by local journalist reveals months of collaboration between MPD and Derco Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, to surveil and criminalize residents protesting the ongoing genocide in Palestine. This surveillance of residents, and specifically those pushing for an arms embargo through the Disarm Derco campaign, signals that we are putting pressure on the correct artery of the local war machine - and we won't be intimidated to stop now.

We encourage everyone to attend the July 2 Fire & Police Commission Meeting with M4P to share our demands for the Common Council & city officials. The FPC is an important committee of the Council and our best opportunity to make our voices and outrage heard.

๐Ÿ’ Volunteer Spotlight: Jim Carpenter ๐Ÿ’

This is a long overdue thank you to our favorite peace activist, Jim Carpenter. Jim is a longtime member of Peace Action that our M4P Community got to know through the pro-Palestine coalition work that sprung up after Al Aqsa Flood in 2023. Jim has been a dependable, fierce advocate for Palestine, especially in political spaces across Milwaukee - from confronting Gwen Moore on her support for genocide, to introducing a ceasefire resolution at the Milwaukee County Democratic Party and getting it passed as the State Convention, to giving public testimony to stop the anti-Palestinian AB 446 & SB 445 (IHRA Bill). Beyond the political, Jim always makes sure to uplift and center Palestinian voices when he's given a platform (or when he takes the platform!).

We are grateful for Jim's example, his willingness to learn & grow as an ally in the struggle, and his relentless optimism that liberation is near. Thank you for all you do, Jim, and see you at the next bike ride for Palestine!

More details to come verrrrrrry soon, but please mark your calendars for May 15-17 and plan to join us for one, two, or all these events! We are hosting this weekend of commemoration and action events for everyone, and especially for YOU, our Palestinian siblings, to be in inter-generational community spaces to share our stories, grief, and hopes with one another.

๐Ÿ”ฅ You can still get involved! If you are interested in supporting this weekend of events - as an individual or as an organization - please DM us. No prior event or planning experience is necessary, and we especially want Palestinian & Arab voices involved in planning these events.
