When I was a teenager, I spent the fall and winter seasons in a wheelchair.
There were times I couldn’t imagine how different my life could eventually look.
And yet… here I am.
Recovery stories and success stories are all around us.
People DO recover from Lyme disease and complex health challenges. I’m one of them.
So if you’re in the thick of it right now, please remember:
Where you are today isn’t necessarily where you’ll always be.
Things can change. 💚🦋
And if you’re wondering what might be possible for YOU, let’s talk. Message me SHIFT and we’ll look at what may be missing and what your next step could be.
What if the thing you’ve been trying to get rid of is actually trying to tell you something?
Pain.
Poor sleep.
Exhaustion.
Brain fog.
Digestive issues.
Hormonal changes.
We tend to ask:
“What can I take for this?”
“How do I make this stop?”
“How do I get back to normal?”
But I like to ask different questions.
Why is your body doing this?
What changed before it started?
What else was happening at the time?
What have you tried?
What helped - even a little?
What makes it worse?
What hasn’t anyone connected yet?
Sometimes the symptom isn’t the whole problem.
Sometimes it’s the clue that leads us to what’s been missed.
That’s a huge part of how I approach the EZ Method.
We stop chasing individual pieces long enough to look at the whole person.
Because when you ask different questions, sometimes you find a completely different path forward.
If you feel like you’ve been treating the same symptoms over and over without getting anywhere, message me SHIFT.
Let’s look at it differently.
Maybe we were never meant to do all of this alone. ❤️
I talk to a lot of people.
And I’ve become a safe place for real conversations.
One thing I keep noticing is how much can live underneath the automatic answer:
“I’m good.”
Exhaustion.
Grief.
Physical struggles.
Big transitions.
“I’m doing okay, but…”
Sometimes people don’t need us to immediately fix anything.
Sometimes they need someone to ask the second question.
And then listen long enough to actually hear the answer.
I think that’s one of the reasons I approach my patients the way I do.
I don’t just want to know what hurts.
I want to know:
What changed?
What happened before it changed?
What have you already tried?
What helped?
What made things worse?
What hasn’t anyone thought to ask you yet?
Because there’s almost always more to the story.
And sometimes, that one missing piece changes everything.
If you’ve been saying “I’m good” while knowing something underneath still doesn’t feel right, maybe it’s time for someone to ask different questions.
That’s exactly what we do in a Solution Shift Call.
A real conversation. A fresh perspective. And a chance to uncover what may have been missed.
Message me SHIFT and let’s talk.
With a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, FOOD AS MEDICINE is one of my favorite ninja moves within the EZ Method.
And the farmers market is one of my favorite places to put it into practice.
A few things I’m thinking about when I shop:
•COLOR
Different colors give us different nutrients and plant compounds. Instead of obsessing over the “perfect” diet, look at your cart or plate and ask: What colors am I missing?
•WHAT’S IN SEASON
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we’ve been looking at food through the lens of the seasons for thousands of years. Our environment changes and how we nourish ourselves can change with it.
•HOW YOU PREPARE IT
As we move into cooler weather, I encourage people to move away from so many iced drinks (this is ALWAYS a recommendation for everyone) and cold, raw foods.
Steam it. Roast it. Make soup. Make stew. Add warming herbs and spices like ginger. Choose warm or room-temperature drinks more often.
•WHAT YOUR BODY IS ACTUALLY ASKING FOR
The “healthiest” food in the world isn’t necessarily the right food for every person at every moment.
That’s where the EZ Method comes in.
I don’t believe in forcing everyone into the same protocol. I actually think the word “protocol” can be dangerous.
I look at the person in front of me - their goals, symptoms, patterns, environment, season, trauma, genetics, history and what they may be missing and then choose from my toolbox.
Nutrition is one tool.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is another.
Notice. Get curious. Try something. Pay attention to what changes.
Your body is constantly giving you information.
Sometimes we just need to learn how to listen.
There were so many nights I couldn’t sleep because I was thinking - How am I going to get through another day?
I was exhausted. Overwhelmed. My body was struggling. And I didn’t always know what the next step was going to be when I had undiagnosed Lyme disease.
But I kept going.
Not because I had everything figured out.
I learned how to listen to my body differently.
I learned how to recognize what it was asking for.
I learned when to stop pushing and start paying attention.
And little by little, I found my way forward.
That’s a huge part of why I do what I do today.
Because when you’re in the middle of it, sometimes you don’t need someone telling you to try harder.
You need someone who knows how to help you look at the whole picture, figure out what may be missing and find your next step.
I’ve been there. I got through it. And I can show you what helped me find my way forward.
If you’ve been doing all the things and still feel stuck, let’s talk.
Message me to schedule a complimentary Solution Shift call. 🦋
I walk past this zebra grass all the time.
And suddenly, there they are - these beautiful, almost iridescent tops catching the sunlight.
They were growing the entire time.
Building roots. Changing. Becoming.
We have seasons like that too.
Here are 3 little EZ Method things to try today:
Touch something in nature.
Slow down and actually feel it - the texture, temperature, movement. Get out of your head and into your senses.
Soften your eyes.
Look toward the horizon, relax your focus and take in the whole view around you. Notice what your body does when you stop staring at one thing.
Take a Sigh of Relief.
Drop your shoulders, soften your jaw, breathe in gently and let out a long, easy exhale. Then notice what shifts.
Not all growth is obvious while it’s happening.
Sometimes you don’t see how much has changed until the light hits you differently.
