What is your open position really costing you?
Most organizations carefully calculate the cost of a new hire.
Few calculate the cost of not hiring.
Every day a key role sits open can lead to:
• Lost productivity
• Increased overtime costs
• Team burnout
• Delayed projects
• Missed revenue opportunities
• Reduced customer satisfaction
The longer a critical position remains vacant, the greater the impact on your people, operations, and bottom line.
The right hire doesn't cost your business money. An unfilled role often does.
👉 Hiring Managers: If you have an open role that's been difficult to fill, don't wait for the perfect candidate to appear. Partner with a recruiting expert, evaluate your hiring process, and take action before the cost of vacancy continues to grow.
Let's connect and discuss how Ontech Talent can help you fill critical positions faster with the right talent.

One of my favorite interview questions is, "What do you like to do for fun?"
Because life is too short to spend 40+ hours a week with people who never laugh. 😄 And if you see Jonah... he will usually be making someone laugh.
Some of my best memories at work aren't the big wins or milestones. They're the random conversations, inside jokes, and moments where the entire team is laughing so hard nobody can finish a sentence.
Don't get me wrong. We work hard.
But I think the best teams know how to work hard and enjoy the people they're working with.
A little laughter can turn a stressful day into a memorable one. Thanks for keeping it fun Jonah.

The people who shine are the ones who care. Like Mark Collins.
They care about doing a good job. They care about the people they work with. They care enough to take ownership when something goes wrong and celebrate others when things go right.
They're the people who don't say, "That's not my job." They're the people who ask, "How can I help?"
I've been fortunate to work alongside people who embody these qualities, and they've reinforced an important lesson for me: skills can be taught, but character, humility, and a willingness to grow make a lasting impact.
For me, what makes someone shine isn't perfection.
It's integrity when no one is watching. It's being dependable when things get tough. It's staying positive when others are complaining. It's having the courage to keep learning instead of thinking you already know it all.
At the end of the day, the people who make the biggest difference are often the ones who quietly make everyone around them better.
Those are the people you remember. Those are the people you trust. Those are the people who make a team stronger simply by being part of it. Thanks for being so great Mark!

I was listening to Jefferson Fisher on The Diary of a CEO the other day, and it made me think about interviews and hiring in a completely different way.
One thing I've learned over the years is that resumes don't hire great people. Conversations do.
I've sat across from candidates with incredible resumes who weren't the right fit, and I've met people whose resumes didn't jump off the page but absolutely blew me away once we started talking.
When I interview someone, I'm not just looking at their experience. I'm trying to understand who they are.
What gets them excited? What have they had to overcome? How do they handle disappointment? What are they proud of? What lessons have shaped them?
The more I hire, the more convinced I am that skills can be taught. Experience can be gained. But character, grit, self-awareness, and the ability to connect with people are much harder to develop.
Jefferson talked about creating space for people to be themselves, and I think that's where the magic happens. The best interviews don't feel like interviews. They feel like two people getting to know each other.
Because at the end of the day, I'm not hiring a resume. I'm hiring a person.
And sometimes the most valuable thing you can do is stop asking the next question on your list and just listen.

Every business has a story.
Not a logo. Not a website. Not a sales number.
A story of real people taking risks, overcoming challenges, learning from failures, and celebrating wins together.
When businesses focus on people first, growth follows naturally.
Because great companies are built by real people, for real people.
