The flesh does not always announce itself loudly. Sometimes it begins with one suggestion, one idea, or one thought that we allow to S.I.T. in our minds.

Suggestions. Ideas. Thoughts.

When we entertain them long enough, they can influence our emotions, shape our decisions, and pull us away from the leading of the Holy Spirit. That is why we must examine what enters our minds and bring every thought into obedience to Christ.

Denying the flesh means refusing to agree with anything that contradicts God’s Word. Slow down, listen for the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to guide your response.

You have poured out, pushed through, and given so much this week. Today, give yourself permission to slow down and rest.

Spend time in God’s presence, breathe, reset, and allow Him to restore your strength for the week ahead. Rest is not wasted time. It is part of the preparation.

Get rested up today. Your mind, body, and spirit need it.

The more time we spend in God’s Word, the more familiar we become with the voice of the Holy Spirit. His voice will always agree with Scripture, guide us in truth, and draw us closer to God.

Don’t just know about the Holy Spirit. Build a relationship with Him. Open the Word, listen carefully, and allow Him to teach, lead, and empower you.
