Here's your syllabus for a fresh start:
📁 File your papers (organize those folders... you know the ones)
🗑️ Clean out your locker (empty that Downloads folder, we see it)
✏️ Sharpen your pencils (update your software)
📚 Turn in your homework (back up your files, but actually do it this time)

A tidy desktop is an A+ desktop. Class dismissed.

Sometimes you just need to step away from your computer (and it helps when you have access to the Northwestern Mutual Legends Club!)

That's how long it took for our brand-new employee to get a spoofed email from our owner.

Luckily for us, he knew better and reported it right away. But it does go to show just how important phishing and email security training really is.

Cyber threats don't take seasons off, but spring is a great time to tighten things up.

Here are 4 things every business should check right now:

1️⃣ Are all team passwords updated and using MFA?
2️⃣ When did you last review who has admin access (including former employees)?
3️⃣ Is your backup system actually tested and working?
4️⃣ Are your endpoints (laptops, phones, tablets) protected?

For law firms, architecture studios, and manufacturers, your data is your business. A breach doesn't just cost money. It costs trust.

This doesn't have to be overwhelming. Small, intentional steps go a long way.

No "URGENT SECURITY ALERT" emails designed to scare you into calling. No weekly newsletters you didn't sign up for. No cold calls pretending we found a "critical vulnerability."

We think the IT industry has earned a bad reputation for fear-based marketing, and we want no part of it.

When we reach out, it's because we have something genuinely useful to share or because your systems actually need attention.

That's it. That's the policy.
