In case you missed it, Helium Books will be shutting down—closing our own book, so to speak—come May 1st 😢
Yet, do not fret, readers! There are an ABUNDANCE of homegrown, authentic, friendly booksellers here in Milwaukee worthy of your attention (and book budget 😉). Some of our favorites include:
🔴 La Revo Books
🔷 Niche Book Bar
🔶 Rooted MKE BIPOC Children’s Bookstore & Literacy Exploration
🔴 Lion's Tooth
🔷 Boswell Book Company
🔶 Woodland Pattern Book Center
🔴 Voyageur Book Shop
And, OF COURSE, be sure, be sure, be sure, to pay your local library a visit from time to time! Support these vibrant cornerstones of our community! Oh...and the books are free 👍
Again, while we are heartbroken by our closing, this is simply the end of one chapter and the beginning of another....
Keep reading. Keep rising.
🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
This is a post we hoped we'd never have to write, but, effective 📅 May 1st, Helium Books will be shutting down.
Of course, this was an incredibly difficult and emotional decision for us to make. To share their thoughts, our co-founders, Ian & Jacob, made a video...👇
+ You can read their final letter explaining it all—the decision, the emotions, their gratitude, what happens next—on our blog: zurl.co/TuzV

Grab some tea, a new read, or an old classic, and get lost in a different world for a few hours.
Trade Dreams for Realities. 💭
It's Book Review Saturday! Today, we are talking about the book "The Scout Mindset" by Julia Galef. Check it out! 📚🎥
🔖 "The Scout Mindset" explores the two very different mindsets of the soldier and the scout. It explains that most of us have a soldier mindset – we cling to our beliefs and often ignore evidence that might prove us wrong, but we can all learn to be scouts, seeking out truth and improving our “map” of the world. The perfect read for the curious mind.
