Wednesday, September 30th is Day 1 of the G20 Trade Ministerial here in Milwaukee. A coalition of labor, environmental, farm, and citizen organizations have banded together to organize a protest of the bad trade policies of the last 30 years including the incoherent and failed Trump trade policy, and to call for a Fair Trade for Working Families policy that benefits working folks here in the Midwest and throughout the United States.

Lawmakers are poised to address the crisis that’s been affecting the American film and television industry for decades: the decline in domestic production due to the robust incentives offered by foreign governments.

Our nation’s own federal incentive program would be a huge win for our economy and those who work in production. According to a recent study by the consulting firm Olsberg SPI, a federal incentive program will likely lead to over $133 billion in new wages and an additional 143,500 full-time-equivalent jobs yearly through 2035.

"On the margins of the ministerial, Ambassador Greer will tour Rockwell Automation with the G20 Ministers. While walking the factory floor, Ambassador Greer and the G20 Ministers will meet with blue-collar workers and industry leaders to discuss how President Trump’s trade program is accelerating America’s reindustrialization and reinforcing our supply chains."

But we know that Trump's trade policy, which doesn't have enough cohesion to actually be called a policy, isn't helping workers and is not boosting domestic manufacturing, let alone "accelerating...reindustrialization."
