Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness secured the freedoms we enjoy each day.

As public safety professionals, we understand the meaning of service, sacrifice, and commitment to community. On this Memorial Day, the Milwaukee Department of Emergency Communications remembers those who gave everything in defense of others.

May we never forget their legacy.

Congratulations to DEC Director Tony Bueno, Deputy Director Annemarie Domurat and HR Administrator Anna Zizzo who were honored by the Wisconsin ESGR for their support of our very own Quinn Tarpey, a Lieutenant with the Army National Guard.

Honored to recognize Anna Zizzo, Tony Bueno, and Annemarie Domurat for their outstanding support and leadership.

Alongside Lt. Quinn Tarpey (Army National Guard), who submitted the nomination and was present for the presentation.

Anna, Tony, and Annemarie demonstrated exceptional support before, during, and after the 2024–2025 deployment. Their willingness to provide flexibility during the mobilization process, maintain support throughout the deployment, and create space for a smooth transition back to civilian life reflects a deep commitment to those they work alongside.

Their understanding, cooperation, and proactive approach significantly reduced the challenges often associated with leaving for—and returning from—deployment.

This level of support exemplifies leadership in action and is truly deserving of recognition.
