🍂 Growing Our Roots: Farm-to-Table Dinner & Fundraiser
Join us Sunday, October 11 from 4:30–7:00 PM at Dodge Nature Center for an evening celebrating local food, farmers, and community.
This year’s dinner will feature a meal prepared with ingredients sourced from our farmers market vendors, with partners including Heather’s and Broders helping bring the menu to life. We’re excited to showcase the incredible farmers and food producers who make our markets special.
The evening will also include drinks, hors d’oeuvres, live music, a silent auction, w**e pull, dessert, and plenty of time to gather and connect.
Proceeds support the Southwest, Kingfield, and Nokomis Farmers Markets and our community food access programs.
🎟️ Tickets are limited. Get yours at www.neighborhoodrootsmn.org/dinner.
Can’t attend? You can still help by purchasing a ticket for a vendor or making a donation.

Did you know there are perks to volunteering at the farmers' market (beyond supporting local food systems and building community)? 🌱
Anyone who volunteers 3+ shifts in a season for our zero waste program earns $15 in market tokens. And we still have seven weeks left of market season, so there's plenty of time to earn!
Other volunteer positions include setup and teardown, giving out samples at our Power of Produce booth, and helping run our community swaps. No previous experience needed for any role, including zero waste.

If you're reading this, you probably already know there are great personal benefits to buying your food local. But what's the bigger picture? Why get out of bed early, or delay cooking dinner, to shop at a farmers' market?🤷🏽
We've collaborated with the National Farmers' Market Coalition to provide you with some answers. (Or talking points, for the next time someone asks *you* these questions!)
Happy National Farmers' Market Week! 🥬💚🍉

If you're feeling a little, well, suffocated by the impact of human activity on our ecosystem health this week, we've got a simple way for you to make a difference - come volunteer at the farmers' market.
We need help running our community swaps and zero waste program. No experience necessary! We train you in day of, and you spend a couple hours listening to live music, chatting with neighbors, and diverting compostables, recyclables, and household goods from the landfill.
The impact? By reducing market operation costs, you're helping local, sustainable farmers bring their food to our community at an accessible price, improving their livelihoods while decreasing the carbon footprint of our food systems. And you get to build community with people who care for the planet the same way you do.
Follow the link in our bio to sign up. We'll see you there soon. 💚♻️

We’re excited to welcome our newest top sponsor, Impact Orthodontics. They’re not only the coolest orthodontist we know, they’re also a huge supporter of our farmers markets and the community that makes them so special.
Stop by their booth, say hello, and enter for your chance to win an Ooni pizza oven. They’ll be visiting markets throughout the season, so you’ve got multiple chances to enter.
Market Schedule:
• Nokomis – July 8
• Kingfield – July 12
• Southwest – August 1
• Kingfield – August 9
The winner will be drawn after their final market visit.
Be sure to give them a warm Neighborhood Roots welcome, learn more about what they do, and don’t forget to throw your name in the raffle!
Launched in November 2025 to fill the gap left by a loss of government funding, Neighbor Bucks is a community-powered program which matches SNAP-EBT dollars spent at the market. Because of your support, we have been able to triple our neighbors' financial access to farm-fresh food.
Will you help us keep this program running? Follow the Neighbors Feeding Neighbors link in our bio to donate, so we can continue to match SNAP benefits - ensuring access to local, sustainable, and nutritious food for all.

The markets you love don't happen by accident.
Neighborhood Roots keeps vendor fees affordable so small farmers and makers can participate, but those fees only cover about half of what it takes to operate our markets. Your support helps fund community gathering spaces, educational programming, local food access initiatives, and the long-term sustainability of our markets.
Become a Market Member for just $10/month and receive exclusive perks, including a tote bag and member button when you sign up, waived token fees, merchandise discounts, and invitations to special events.
Join today and invest in the market you love. đź’š
