ABOUT CEDAR COMMONS:
Cedar Commons is devoted to programming and gatherings that build collective capacity to make change by connecting and equipping leaders. Through popular education, youth leadership development, organizer trainings, transformative conversations, and artistic expression, students and community members come together to learn, grow and work towards a more thriving Cedar Riverside. We welcomes new ideas and visions for utilizing this multi-purpose space! BACKGROUND:
In December 1984, the ecumenical Community of St. Martin opened St. Martin’s Table, a non-profit restaurant dedicated to peacemaking and supporting hunger-related causes. For 26 years, until its close in December 2010, the Table was a beloved part of this neighborhood. It had been a gathering place for many neighbors, peace and justice advocates, and progressive church members in the Twin Cities.
