BodyTalk
From Ballroom to Ballet and Modern to Mime, what happens when you bring dancers and movers of different genres together for one show?
A fusion of fun dance ideas and movement stories happens. Rebecca Abas director of BODYTALK Dance Group, and last year's Fringe show Train Stories, has combined a new potpourri of artists to create this year's show. Justin Carlson of The Christopher Watson Dance Company brings a new ballet flavor. Lisa Vogel, Ballroom competitor and coach flys solo. Emily Knotek's Irish country dance keep her feet talking. Molly Copeland a BODYTALK orginal member takes it on with her inimitable style. Kirsten and Dean's physical theater gives us their best comedy. Eight year old Bijou Abas lights up the stage with her bird dance. Dennis Yelkin long time contact improvisor fuses his contact with Tango. Rebecca Abas brings them all together to co-mingle ideas to create artful play. Though these pieces are structured, they are also improvised so there is the feeling of excitement about what is going to happen next. It is the body conversation of these particular dancers that makes this show talk! These random acts of dance will leave you feeling kinder and happier.
