Pipestone is more than a resource—it is a sacred place tied to ceremony, responsibility, relationship, and generations of Indigenous peoples. As another pipeline proposal looms, we are bringing community together to center Indigenous voices and speak about what Pipestone means, why it must be protected, and what our responsibilities are to the generations yet to come.
We are honored to welcome an incredible panel:

🕯️ Overdose Awareness Honoring & Memorial 🕯️

Every life lost to overdose was a loved one. A relative. A friend. A member of our community.

Join us as we come together to honor those we have lost, lift up the families and communities carrying this grief, and stand together in remembrance, healing, and hope.

This memorial will include:
🪶 Opening prayer and to***co ceremony
🗣️ Words from Elders, impacted families, community members, harm reduction and outreach workers
📝 Poetry reading

As Indigenous communities, we know the importance of remembering our relatives by name. We also recognize that the overdose crisis continues to impact our families at devastating rates. This evening is an opportunity to gather in community, offer prayers, honor those we’ve lost, and reaffirm our commitment to protecting life, supporting healing, and ensuring that no family grieves alone.
