I am thrilled and honored that my new glass wall sculptures have found a wonderful new home! This was a commission and collaboration to great depth, shadows and dimension in this area where the client host parties and gatherings. The sculptures are a deep blue with black sprinkled edges and vary in size from 2 1/2 to 4 inches in diameter. Overall, the art installation measures 40 inches tall by 10 feet wide. I love that the client named the wall sculpture “Asymmetrical Murmurations” since they do look like birds in formation. Foci MN Center for Glass Arts NEMAA Arts North Loop Minneapolis
commissions welcome!

It’s been a hot summer in the glass hot shop at Foci MN Center for Glass Arts. I love being there creating new wall sculptures and the latest are Leaf shapes. The leaves vary in size from 6 to 8 inches in height and have a variety of greens with clear glass and texture. They create beautiful shadows in any light! I am open to commissions and I think my next series will be based on the seasons from fall to summer with a gradation of reds, yellows, and greens. The sculpture is currently on view in my studio and available.

What a great week teaching with Meg MacDonald at her studio@crowsnestartstudio in the Natural Impressions workshop near Victoria, BC. We printed with natural materials using oil pigment sticks on Gelli plates. There was great creative energy in the studio and the island was lovely! Thanks to R&F Handmade Paints, Ampersand Art Supply and Silver Brush Limited for the best art materials. Check out my upcoming retreat workshops on my website www.jodireeb.com.

It was wonderful to visit the Seattle Art Museum to see some of my favorite artists including Abstract Expressionist artists and Tara Donovan.

Such a great time taking photos at Nerstrand-Big Woods State Park for my upcoming solo show this fall at the Paradise Center for the Arts. I am so grateful to have received a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board in support of this exhibition.
I took photos on film that I will use as collage with encaustic as double exposures.

Appreciation is extended to all who attended Art-A-Whirl last weekend to stop by and say hello. The weather and the art were divine!

It’s here! Art-A-Whirl on Saturday from 12-8 pm I’ll be in the showing my paintings and wall sculptures with some of my favorite artists in the exhibition “Summer Dreamscapes”. Please stop by to say hello #395
