Join us at ColorWheel Gallery Saturday, July 11th. 2-7pm for a Guest Pop-Up Art Exhibit/Sale with multi-media artist
Charlotte Corbine.
Charlotte is an Anishinaabe Ikwe Beadwork Artist rooted in the traditional floral designs of the people.
Growing up on the Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) Reservation in a large, close-knit family taught Charlotte the importance of culture, connection and carrying traditions forward.
Now as an aunt to many nieces and nephews, she is continually inspired to keep these teachings alive. Beading is a way of staying connected to culture, community and the knowledge passed down through generations. Charlotte has traveled across the U.S, learning from respected traditional teachers and carries those lessons into every piece she creates. Her unique Regalia Designs can often take up to a year to complete, with each stitch made with patience, care and intention.
Charlotte's work can be found throughout Turtle Island, the Philippines, and Hawaii. Wherever It Goes, it remains grounded in where it Comes From. Through creating traditional beadwork, she honors and shares a story rooted in family, resilience and cultural pride.
Everyone is Welcome.
Enjoy refreshments in community, visit with the artist and learn more about her work. You will have the opportunity to purchase some of her beautiful art as well.
Miigwech.
