Do you want to be a part of the solution? There are many ways that you can be a part of the change to end sexual violence. Use this post to gather some ideas!

It is important to remember that we should always be apart of the solution. Not just when the news hits. Sexual violence is happening every day, you can play a role in ending that.

To say we are outraged by recent events that are being covered by the media would be a vast understatement. It is devastating to hear news about egregious acts of violence, but we will not let pain, rage, and grief slow or weaken the work we are doing within this movement. We remain committed to supporting people whose lives have been impacted by sexual violence, and we encourage you to join the movement and do the same. Speak out. Advocate. Organize. Take action.

Violence is not only perpetuated and upheld by larger systems and institutions, but also by individuals who choose to cause harm, people who don’t speak up, and toxic narratives surrounding violence. This is not about a lack of education, prevention efforts, or systems change work from violence-prevention movements. It is about a lack of accountability from systems and a complete absence of care, empathy, and respect for bodily autonomy.

Conversations like these are incredibly important, but the dialogue around so many instances of sexual violence leave victims and survivors feeling like nobody will believe them, and that there is no support. During times like these, it is essential to remember that you are not alone, we believe you, and we want to work together to prevent people from causing harm.
