Do you think license plate reading Flock cameras should be removed?

Florida is moving to remove Flock license plate reader cameras from state roadways after Gov. Ron DeSantis raised concerns about Al-powered surveillance.

Local law enforcement agencies have 30 days to remove cameras currently in operation - or FDOT says it will remove them itself.

FDOT has also revoked all approvals related to license plate readers, citing concerns over misuse, data and Floridians’ privacy and quality of life.

Gov. DeSantis says Florida should not become a “digital Al surveillance state” where people’s movements are constantly tracked.

But law enforcement agencies pushing back say the cameras have also helped them solve crimes.

So where should the line be drawn between public safety and privacy?
