🎉Congratulations to Luis M. Rodriguez on being named the new Principal of Lloyd & Dolly Bentsen Elementary!🎉

With 14 years of experience serving students and families, Mr. Rodriguez brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and leadership to the Bentsen community. Throughout his career, he has served as a speech-language pathology assistant, special education teacher, and most recently as assistant principal at Ruben Hinojosa Elementary.

His dedication to developing student support systems, coaching teachers, and creating inclusive learning environments reflects his commitment to helping every student succeed. Known for building strong relationships, supporting staff, and leading with collaboration and heart, Mr. Rodriguez is ready to make a lasting impact at Lloyd & Dolly Bentsen Elementary.

Dear Sharyland ISD Community,
As part of our ongoing commitment to school safety, Sharyland ISD's Department of Safety and Security will host an Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) simulation at Sharyland High School tomorrow, Thursday, July 30. This specialized training, conducted in partnership with the Mission Police Department, the Texas School Safety Center, and numerous local and regional law enforcement agencies, is designed to strengthen emergency preparedness and coordinated response efforts.

Community members should expect to see a significant law enforcement presence at Sharyland High School throughout the day. The training will include realistic emergency response scenarios that may involve simulated weapons, loud noises that resemble gunfire, emergency vehicles, and tactical law enforcement activity. Please be advised that this is only a planned training exercise. There is no threat to our schools or the surrounding community. The simulation is carefully coordinated to provide first responders and school personnel with realistic training while maintaining a safe and controlled environment.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we work alongside our public safety partners to ensure our first responders and staff are well prepared to protect our students, staff, and community. Thank you for helping us share this information and avoid unnecessary concern. Together, we continue to make safety a top priority at Sharyland ISD.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing safe and secure learning environments, Sharyland ISD's Department of Safety and Security is hosting Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) at Sharyland High School beginning today, July 28, through Thursday, July 30.
