Glacier Ice Rink offers affordable hockey, skating and curling programs for the Missoula community
Glacier Ice Rink has provided hockey and other recreational ice skating activities for the Missoula community since 1997. We are owned and operated by the Missoula Area Youth Hockey Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Each year, we receive nearly 90,000 visits through our in-house hockey and skating programs and the external user groups who rent our ice. We receive no government funding and generate income through our program fees, ice rentals, and the generosity of sponsors and donors.

Join us on October 10th at 12:30pm for a free public skate to honor the passing of David Skilling.
Dave was a longtime official with the Missoula Referee Association and was deeply involved with the Missoula Athletic Council which was a supporter of the Missoula Youth Hockey Financial Aid Fund.
To honor Dave's deep ties to our Missoula hockey community and his dedication to keeping ice sports affordable for everyone, his family is sponsoring a free public skate session open to the public.

Scenes from Friday night’s Dolly Parton skate!
We were excited to welcome so many Dolly fans into the rink to enjoy a last send off to the Queen of Country Music. To top it off, we were able to donate almost $500 to United Way of Missoula County for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library!

🏒 Hockey is for everyone.
Last weekend, we had the pleasure of welcoming a great group of girls for our Missoula Youth Hockey Girls Try Hockey for Free! We saw a few first strides, some tumbles and slides, but plenty of smiles, and some new skills to boot. It was incredible to watch so many girls step onto the ice and give hockey a shot.
Days like this are a reminder of what we love about hockey- there’s a place for everyone.
Thank you to all the girls and families who joined us, and to the coaches and everyone who helped make the day possible. We hope to see these new faces back on the ice soon!

Join us Friday, September 18 at 7 pm, for a Dolly Parton-Themed Skate celebrating her music and legacy.
Pull out your biggest hair, brightest rhinestones, and favorite denim, and skate along to all your favorite Dolly songs! Come dressed as Dolly and enter our costume contest, or just come as you are and enjoy an evening with friends.
Admission is $15 and includes skate rentals. To carry Dolly's generosity forward, we'll donate $5 from every admission to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library through United Way of Missoula County.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a place feel like home.
As we’re welcoming everyone back on the ice, we’re also excited to share a few new updates to the entryway at Glacier Ice Rink courtesy of our friends at agmissoula. While they may seem like simple changes, they represent something much bigger, pride in the place our community has built together.
We want everyone to know that every time you walk through these doors, you’re stepping into a place made possible by the support, dedication, and passion of our incredible community.

It takes a village...
Our journey to put build ice every season is a lot more than just turning on the refrigeration system. Its a journey of early mornings and late night. Of mistakes, frustrations, and aha moments. Its a journey that relies heavily on all of us coming together to build something that will spend the next 9 months creating memories.
From the first layer of water that gets laid down over bare concrete, to the final layer of ice dropped by the Zamboni, our staff, volunteers, and sponsors put in immense effort to welcome you back this season. Every paint stroke, every hour, and every contribution came together to get the ice in and bring your rink back to life. This year we were grateful to welcome members from to help put the finishing touches into the center ice logo.
This ice belongs to the whole community, and we can't wait to see you on it.
Doors open August 31st. We've missed you.
