The Powering America team of National Electrical Contractors Association - NECA’s Cache Valley Electric and IBEW Local 505 is working on ArcelorMittal’s $1.2 billion expansion of its AM/NS Calvert steel facility in Calvert, Alabama. The facility is expected to create roughly 260 permanent positions and over 1,300 construction jobs.
We have calls for Journeyman inside wiremen. We have multiple calls out at AMC (formerly AM/NS) in Calvert on that new steel mill expansion with incentives with Cache Valley Electric.
We have multiple calls out at the Novelis aluminum mill getting built.
We have one call for McDuffie island with Gulf Electric.
all calls have the base wage of $33.70 an hour, going up to $34.71 in September.
We would love for you incoming Journeymen to stay local but there are opportunities to make big $$$ across the country.
Remember, going with us means you have pensions, Full family healthcare with dental, and more. those benefits travel with you from job to job locally or across the country. Once you get certified as a JW with the IBEW, you'll never test in again no matter which state you decide to chase work in. With us, the only PPE you have to buy is boots. Gloves, hardhats, safety glasses, and any other required PPE will be provided by the contractor. Also you can leave the pack out behind. No personal power tools allowed on any of our sites. you bring the basic hand tools on our tool list, the contractor has to provide the rest.
If you have any questions about how this works, how the insurance or other benefits work, or any questions about the union in general, feel free to ask here.
also you can Email us at [email protected] or call/ text me directly at 251-490-7372!
