How an Architectural Practice (or Firm) can create a practical strategy for growth
Course Description:
As the architectural profession faces rapid transformation driven by artificial intelligence, sustainability requirements, and evolving client expectations, firms must rethink how they plan for growth. This course equips architects with practical tools to analyze their firm’s position, define their business direction, and implement effective strategies that ensure both resilience and long-term success. Through a structured framework of analysis, choices, and action, participants will learn how to align their services with emerging client needs, strengthen firm identity, and adapt to disruptive trends in technology and design. By connecting strategic thinking with real-world applications, this session empowers architects to lead their practices toward sustainable and ethical growth in a changing built environment.
Learning Objectives:
Identify key strategic elements that enable architectural firms to adapt to market disruptions such as AI, sustainability demands, and regulatory changes.
Apply analytical tools to assess their firm’s current position, client needs, and competitive advantages in order to make informed business decisions.
Develop actionable strategies that align design processes with health, safety, and welfare goals, improving project efficiency and client outcomes.
Implement a step-by-step plan for sustainable firm growth that integrates innovation, ethical leadership, and continuous improvement in design practice.

TITLE Breathe Easy at Home
ABOUT THIS COURSE
Homes across America rely on proper ventilation for their comfort and rarely give it a second thought. But over time,
technology and advancements in energy efficiency have been working against us leaving us with sealed up homes
that cause unexpected consequences. This CEU will seek to identify the challenges associated with inadequate
ventilation, and the surprising strategies that minimize the risks associated with it.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Review the evolution of ventilation in our homes and the drivers of the change that encouraged it.
• Analyze the conditions within the home that arise when a home is tightly built and the impacts of the inhabitants of the space.
• Understand how to accurately calculate the ventilation necessary for a healthy environment.
• Discuss strategies that can be implemented to achieve proper ventilation requirements of a home.

Course Description:
Large veneer profiles provide the architect the design aesthetics of natural stone, but with the affordability and flexibility of masonry. This course will discuss the large veneers that are available for selection by the architect and the proper detailing procedures that need to be followed for moisture prevention and crack control.
Learning Objectives
Attendees will learn the proper detailing methods to provide effective moisture control in the building envelope.
Attendees will learn the proper detailing crack control methods by the use of control joints for both safety and aesthetics

Course Description:
This interactive video presentation provides valuable information about the unique properties of architectural resins and glass and how they translate to today’s built environment. With this course you will gain a greater understanding of the performance characteristics of each material, enabling you to select the best materials to meet the demands of your projects.
Learning Objectives
Understand the evolution of high-performance translucent materials and how they play an important role in today’s world by looking at the use of durable resins and glass in the A&D and automotive industries.
Understand several material properties including abrasion resistance, flexural performance, chemical resistance, optical clarity, and surface texture, and how they compare across each translucent material type.
Understand performance characteristics including weight, formability, service temperature, UV exposure, flammability, expansion/contraction, tensile and impact strength, and how they play a role in selecting the best material for different applications.
Understand manufacturing transparency and material ingredient health through life-cycle analyses, public reporting, and certifications as a means to protect and restore our environment and improve human well-being.

As awareness about the impact of carbon emissions grows, companies in every sector and of every size are setting goals to reduce their climate impact.
But how are those goals set, how do you track progress, where do you start, and why take on the challenge? This course defines and contextualizes carbon, explains the impact of human activity on the natural carbon cycle, and provides insight into how companies can measure and reduce their climate impact.
Then the discussion turns to carbon emissions in the design and construction industry, and why they matter so much in the context of a changing climate.
This course offers the building and design community opportunities to reduce carbon emissions and foster healthier human communities at the same time. T
his presentation closes with tools and resources for participants to learn more and act on the most urgent source of greenhouse gas emissions in the built environment industry, the carbon impact of building materials.
Learning Objectives
Define carbon and its relationship to global climate change
Review how companies are accounting for carbon emissions
Contextualize the design and construction industry’s relationship to global carbon emissions through operational and embodied carbon impact
Offer tools and best practices to address embodied carbon in material selection and interior design.
