Trying to create more power, but coming up and off the ball?

The Adrian Beltre drill is one of my favorite feels for hitters who tend to push up out of the ground and lose their posture.

The goal is to help them feel rotation and use the ground without pushing themselves up and away from the baseball.

A cue I like: think about driving your back knee or shin down toward the ground as you rotate.

Hit the ball, let that back knee drop, and hold your finish. Almost like you’re pimping it! Feel yourself turn through the baseball and own the finish.

Remember, we’re giving the hitter a feel, not trying to make everybody swing like Adrian Beltre. Find what helps them stay grounded, hold posture, and deliver the barrel.

Save this for your next cage session and send it to a hitter who struggles with coming up off the ball.

MADE IN THE CAGE. PROVEN ON THE FIELD. 💪⚾️

Your misses tell a story. Do you understand what they’re telling you?

Here’s a senior putting in the work, using video breakdown and conversation to understand his swing and what’s causing his misses.

What you FEEL isn’t always what’s happening. That’s why we watch, talk through it, and make sure the work we’re doing in the cage matches what the video is showing us.

It’s about helping the hitter understand his own swing, make adjustments, and take that work into the batter’s box with confidence.

Because the ultimate goal is IN-GAME SUCCESS.

Don’t just take more swings. Understand your misses and make your work count. 🔥

You can’t build a plan until you know where you’re starting. 👊

Part 4 wraps up our first-day hitter evaluation series! This session gives us a baseline of where the hitter is today so we can put a plan together for where we want to go.

We’re reviewing swings on the Full Swing monitor and helping him understand what we’re seeing and what comes next.

Every swing from tonight and moving forward goes into OnForm. From sessions in our facility to game footage and training on their own, video is a huge part of how we develop our hitters. We can stay connected, give feedback, and keep working between sessions.

The evaluation is just the beginning. Now it’s time to get to work! 🔥

Hope y’all enjoyed this live look at how we work with first-time hitters!

Ready to get started? Comment “READY” below, and let’s talk about a plan for your hitter. What do y’all want to see next? Drop your ideas below! ⬇️

“What do these numbers actually mean?” 👀

A lot of hitters look at their metrics and ask, “Are they good or bad?” We want them to understand what those numbers are telling us and how that connects to their swing.

In part three of our first-day evaluation series, we’re diving into the data. ⚾️

Blast Motion gives us average and max bat speed, attack angle, and time to contact. In this video, attack angle is a big piece of what we’re looking at. Does the data match what we’re seeing with our eyes and on video? Blast Motion

Full Swing gives us exit velocity, distance, launch angle, and an overhead camera view of every swing. Each piece helps us get a better understanding of the hitter. Full Swing Baseball

But remember, metrics are a piece of the puzzle. The goal is to become the best IN-GAME hitter possible.

We want our hitters to understand their numbers, connect them to what they feel, and use that information to get better when it matters.

Watch part three, save this for your hitter, and drop a metric in the comments you’d like us to explain! 👇

Sometimes the best coaching starts with saying nothing. 👀⚾️

Part 2 of our new hitter series: Watch first. Communicate second.

From behind the catcher and the open side, I’m letting the hitter swing while the video rolls. No cues yet. Just watching how he moves, what keeps showing up, and how I’m going to communicate what I see.

Then we give him something to try.

That’s one of my favorite moments. A hitter who just met you is deciding, “Can I trust this guy? Can I commit to what he’s asking?”

When he feels something click or sees a better result, that’s where the buy-in begins. We’re building trust with every conversation and every swing.

Coaches: Give yourself time to observe.
Hitters: Give yourself permission to try something new.

Before we give a new hitter a drill, we need to know the hitter. 👊

What does a first-day evaluation at Heisler Hitting look like? This is Part 1 of our four-part series.

It starts with communication. We ask questions, listen, watch them hit, and review video together. We want to understand how they move, what they feel, and how they learn.

Then we figure out which “vitamins” their swing needs. Not all drills are created equal. A drill that helps one hitter might not be what another hitter needs.

We build the swing around the hitter. Every player brings something different to the cage, and their training should reflect that.

Thinking about training with us? This series gives you a look at how we get started and why we do what we do.

Follow along for Parts 2–4, and DM us “TRAIN” if you’re ready to get your hitter started! ⚾️

PLAYOFF BASEBALL IS HERE. ⚾️🔥

I love watching the best players in the world compete when every game matters. But if you’re a hitter who wants to get better, don’t just watch the highlights. Sit down and watch a whole game.

Watch the at-bats. Watch how hitters adjust, control the zone, and find ways to help their team win. In a short series, every pitch and every decision carries weight.

I promise, you’ll learn something you can take into your own game.

We’ll be sharing things we notice throughout the playoffs. What team are you watching, and what’s one thing you’re going to pay attention to? Drop it in the comments. 👇

Want your power to show up in the game? Stay down on the ball. ⚾️

For this hitter, that means holding his posture over the plate and keeping his head behind the barrel. It does not mean chopping down with his swing.

When he holds his posture, he holds his angles and stays through the zone longer. That gives him a chance to drive pitches at different heights. When his body rises up and out, the barrel can cut across the ball and turn that big-time power into rollover ground balls.

Young hitters, feel your body stay down so the ball can go up.

Have a hitter with power who keeps rolling balls over? Send them this video and have them watch what his body does through contact.
