Mobile's new public transit system launches today! Second Line Transit is bringing updated bus routes, more frequent service, and a much larger microtransit zone to the Port City. 🚎

Starting today, you will see the first Second Line Transit trolley all over the city. It will run the downtown circulator route on Saturdays and will alternate other routes throughout the week. In addition to the trolley and our fixed-route buses running throughout the city, Second Line Transit also offers micro transit options that can deliver corner-to-corner service, connecting Mobilians to jobs and key destinations.

For the first two weeks, rides will be free on the new trolley or micro transit vehicles. The fare will be $1.25 per ride after the two weeks. This isn't just about trolleys; it's about creating a transit system that works for all Mobilians. 🤝

Last week, we received the first of what will be many trolleys as part of the upcoming launch of Second Line Transit! 🚎 Second Line Transit will officially launch on September 28, and the new trolley will run the Downtown Circulator route on Saturdays. During the week, we’ll rotate it around various fixed routes to let everyone enjoy the newest addition to our public transportation system.

In addition to the trolley and new routes coming at the end of September, Second Line Transit will also launch its fleet of microtransit vehicles. We want to make Mobile a city that moves people, literally, and a more accessible, more efficient, and more user-friendly transit system will do just that. I hope you’re as excited about the changes as I am!
