This blue heron walked up like he had a reservation, then grabbed the scrap of fish along with a nice helping of seaweed.

Watch as he rinses his meal off in the bay, chews it up, then slurps it back with a tilt of his head. A nice and satisfying lunch indeed.

This boat ramp is a hotspot for the local birds as they wait patiently for the fishing charter boats to clean their catch and toss the scraps.

I tossed this hungry pelican a scrap of fish at the boat ramp and he turned it into a whole charismatic show! Wings out, as if taunting me, then paddled away to eat.

Watch as he chews it up with vigor, and then with a tilt of his head, slides it down his pouch. Look closely for the little shake of his tailfeathers at the end! A delicious lunch indeed.

You can always find local birds hanging out here, just waiting for the fishing charters to come in and clean their catch. They get fed really well around here!

40+ miles offshore fishing on a snapper spot and this sea turtle surfaces right next to the boat. I thought it was a submerged bale at first, then the giant head popped up and grabbed a gulp of air.

It's a nesting female cruising the gulf to find a good place on the shore to lay her eggs. This is the commute before the crawl up the beach. I hope she has a good hatch this year!
