Learn how Zebrafish are helping researchers better understand Autism Spectrum Disorder. 🐟
Attendees will learn about TCF7L2 gene in Zebrafish brains, and how it is a high-risk gene for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the next installment of the Fall 2026 Science Colloquium. The research that will be presented aims to fully characterize this gene and its role in ASD to better understand the genetic components of ASD.

StanRTA is evaluating potential route changes that would affect travel to and from MJC campuses. Photons, particle reconstruction, pattern tracking, oh my! 🌠
Attendees will be introduced to the summer research with CERN’s ATLAS experiment on the rare Higgs boson decay search H → Za. The presentation will be on October 7th, at 3:15pm in the Science Community Center, room 115.
This research explores instances where the Higgs may decay into a Z boson and a possible new light particle that produces two photons. Learn how detector data, particle reconstruction, and mass patterns to search for signs of physics beyond the Standard Model.
