🥋🔥 **WHAT WE’RE LEARNING THIS MONTH AT MODESTO JUDO CLUB!** 🔥🥋

This month, we’re building powerful connections between **Judo, Nogi, and Ne-Waza!**

🥋 **JUDO: FORWARD SUMI-GAESHI**

Forward Sumi-gaeshi is a fast, direct sacrifice throw that works by getting your body and weight underneath your opponent’s center of gravity.

It is similar to Tomoe-nage, but instead of placing the foot directly on the stomach, we use our leg to elevate and rotate our opponent forward.

✅ Secure your grips
✅ Get underneath their center of gravity
✅ Load their weight
✅ Elevate, rotate, and finish the throw

🔥 **NOGI & NE-WAZA: THE 4×4 MOUNT SYSTEM**

We’re learning how to obtain the mount from positions such as side control—and then systematically attack once the mount has been established.

The **four steps from mount** are:

1️⃣ Obtain an underhook
2️⃣ Ratchet the elbow above the shoulder line
3️⃣ Establish strong chest-wrap control
4️⃣ Finish with one of four major attacks

The **four primary attacks** are:

🔹 Kata-gatame — Head-and-arm choke
🔹 Juji-gatame — Straight armbar
🔹 Sankaku-jime — Triangle choke
🔹 Back take — Take the back when they turn to escape

The complete sequence is:

**Mount → Underhook → Elevate the elbow → Control the upper body → Submit or take the back!**
