Now that we've got our pity party out of the way, let's talk about all the GOOD that happened this weekend.
The first night, Owen qualified 36th. The next night? 6th. That's some pretty quick learning by both Owen and Dad.
We spent four days camped next to Kyle freaking Larson. 😂
Kennedy lived her best life at the pool, playing at the park and feeding the ducks every day.
We soaked up some California sun.
We got more time with our race family.
We got In and Out 🍔😋
And we were reminded just how many people we have in our corner.
When we realized we were having car issues, we did not have a shortage of people who rallied around us to help.
Plus, the amount of calls, texts and Facebook messages we got checking on O, checking on us, or just giving us some words of encouragement was pretty incredible.
Sometimes it takes a hard weekend to remind you just how lucky you are. 💚🏁

"Hey Owen, meet Owen"
Owen Larson
Owen qualified 6th today, a huge improvement from yesterday!
This had him starting 3rd in his heat race. After some contact, he went over and wasn't able to finish the race.
He should have started the B main in 2nd, but after all hands on deck, we weren't able to make the race and our night was over. O was completely devastated and we had to pry him out of the car.
This was the largest out of state race that we have done in the micro and we all learned a lot about set up at a different track and about how to adapt your driving style.
It also taught us that we can be a front runner at home, but that we need to continue putting our driver and crew chief in these rough situations to learn how to adapt on the fly.
Plaza Park put on a great show and we are incredibly grateful to be part of it.
Huge thank you to Tiffany and Joe Constance and Tyler Coates for doing everything they could to get Owen back out in time for the B, we appreciate you!
We go home sad, but determined to continue showing up.

Race results-
With practice on Wednesday ending with parts failure, we spent all day yesterday and this morning making sure we were ready to race today.
With this being our first time at this track, we had to do some hands on learning.
In hot laps, he was 25th fastest out of 41 cars. In qualifying, the track changed quickly and we weren't prepared. He finished 36th.
He started his heat race in 8th and made it up to 6th.
He started 7th in B2. On the start, the field had to check up and Owen's nose wing took some damage. He finished in 7th.
Not how we wanted the night to go, but we feel like we learned more about the track and what the car needs for tomorrow.
