Whittling out the next wooden creation! 🪵🔪✨

Back at the carving tray for our latest wooden piece! Starting from a raw block, shaping the bowl, and getting the curve of the handle right takes patience and steady handwork.

Once the rough-carved shape is locked in, it's straight to hand-sanding to smooth down all those rough edges before final finishing.

Last-minute trip north to the UP! 🌲🌊🍂✨

We took off for a quick autumn getaway to the Upper Peninsula, and it was everything we needed. Grabbed some dirty sodas from Sage and Soda Inc to caffeinate, worked a half day (real job) from the passenger seat while the wife took the wheel, and hit the road!

We spent the weekend beachcombing for treasures, catching incredible sunsets over the water, sitting on the beach by campfires under a full moon, and taking in all the peak fall colors.

Took the opportunity to support some of our favorite UP small businesses while there, grabbing our morning cuppa from The Dream Bean and afternoon ice cream from Pictured Rocks Trading Company.

Taking a breath and looking back at a busy week in the forge. 📸✨

This week was all about transition and trying new things. We kicked things off with local market hunts and autumn drinks, finalized Spookily’s dual-handle web design based on your votes, and branched out into new craft territory with carved wooden blades and adding some Halloween fun to our mystery bao line.

Creating across so many different mediums keeps the studio full of energy, but today is for clearing off the work tables, organizing the tools, and resetting for another great week ahead.
