The Dance Loft

Meet Ms. Sara McManaway!

Sara McManaway began her dance journey at the age of three in Monroe, Michigan, at Clawson School of Dance. Throughout her formative years, she received extensive classical training in Cecchetti ballet, advancing to pointe work at the age of ten. At thirteen, Sara discovered her passion for lyrical dance, which further inspired her dedication to the art of movement and expression. She continued her dance training and performance experience through the age of twenty.

From 2022 to 2025, Sara expanded her involvement in the dance community as an instructor and choreographer, specializing in lyrical, contemporary, and ballet. During this time, she played an instrumental role in the development and success of her competitive dancers, choreographing award-winning routines that earned numerous first-, second-, and third-place placements.

Following a brief hiatus from teaching, Sara is thrilled to return to the studio and continue sharing her knowledge, creativity, and passion for dance. She looks forward to inspiring young dancers, fostering their technical and artistic growth, and creating a positive, encouraging environment where students can develop confidence and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.

Ms. Sara will be taking over our beginner Company 1 competitive lyrical class, as well as our 2-4 year ballet class and subbing where needed through the season.

We are so excited to have you a part of the TDL family, Ms. Sara! 🤎

🏆✨ WE DID IT, TDL FAMILY!!! ✨🏆

We are beyond excited to announce that The Dance Loft WON BOTH categories we were nominated in for the 2026 Monroe County Community Choice Awards!

🏆 BEST PLACE TO DANCE — for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!

AND, to top it all off…

🏆 BEST DANCE STUDIO IN MONROE COUNTY FOR DANCE EDUCATION!

To say we are proud, grateful, and overwhelmed with love would be an understatement. To bring home Best Place to Dance two years in a row is already such an incredible honor, but to also be recognized for dance education means more to us than we can put into words. Teaching, inspiring, challenging, and creating a place where our dancers can grow is at the heart of everything we do.

None of this would be possible without our incredible students, families, staff, friends, and community supporters who believe in The Dance Loft, vote for us, cheer us on, and continue to choose TDL year after year.

Thank you, Monroe County, for continuing to believe in what we’re building. We are so proud to call this community home, and we’re just getting started.
