When you're looking at a house, it’s easy to focus on the big things like the roof or the kitchen. But sometimes, a major risk is sitting right at ground level. 🔍📉
In this video, we’re looking at a house where the vinyl siding goes all the way down to the ground. While it might look finished, it’s actually a huge red flag. When siding makes direct contact with the soil, it creates a hidden highway for termites and other wood-destroying insects. 🤝🐜
Termites live in the soil, and when your siding touches the dirt, it gives them an open invitation to crawl straight up into the wood structure—completely hidden from view. Whether the siding is covering a basement foundation or a crawlspace, keeping a proper clearance between the soil and your siding is essential to protecting your home from structural damage.
At Elevate Inspection Group, we look closely at how your home interacts with the elements—and the pests—so you don't face unexpected problems down the road.
Keep the pests out and your investment secure.

Termite damage in Southeast Michigan? It is definitely not a common find for our area, but a trained eye knows exactly what to look for—even when someone tries to cover it up! 🕵️♂️🐜
In this video, we are down in a basement looking up at the subfloor. The ceiling was entirely painted black, but the distinctive tracks left behind by termites or similar wood-destroying insects are still clearly visible. By checking the perimeter right above the basement wall near the front porch, we can trace the active trail coming from two different locations. They actually painted right over the termite trail!
A fresh coat of paint can mask a lot of issues during a quick walkthrough, but it won't stop a thorough investigation. We are letting our client know exactly what we found so a specialist can step in, evaluate the scope, and ensure the right repairs are made before closing.
Don't leave your investment to chance.

Just because a house is newer doesn't mean it's free from wear and tear.
Take a look at this house built in the year 2000. While the original windows still "work just fine" on the outside, a closer look reveals that the seals inside the dual-pane glass are starting to break down and wear away.
Failed window seals can lead to fogging, condensation, and a loss of energy efficiency in your home. It’s one of those subtle things that often gets missed by the untrained eye during a walkthrough—but not by us. 🔍💨
At Elevate Inspection Group, we catch the details that matter most so you can avoid hidden expenses down the road.

There is nothing quite like the charm of an older home. From classic brickwork to the original built-in mailboxes, Eastpointe houses are full of unique, vintage details that you just don't find in modern builds. 😍
But while those historic touches give a home its character, they can also come with some hidden history behind the walls. 🕵️♂️🛠️
At Elevate Inspection Group, we know exactly what to look for when inspecting vintage homes. We bridge the gap between appreciating old-school charm and ensuring modern safety—checking everything from the original features to the updated systems so you can buy with total confidence.
Love the character, but make sure you know the condition.

Don’t let a small drip turn into a big headache! 💧🚿
In this video, Jaymie takes us behind the scenes of a standard bathroom sink inspection. It might seem like a quick check, but there is a lot more to it than just turning on the faucet.
At Elevate Inspection Group, we pay attention to the details that matter:
The Pop-Up Stopper: We test if the assembly actually holds water or if it’s a maintenance item that needs a quick adjustment.
The Overflow Drain: We ensure this safety feature is functional so a forgotten tap doesn't lead to a flooded bathroom.
Leak Detection: We check thoroughly underneath the cabinet for any signs of active leaks or past water damage that could lead to mold or rot.
Whether you’re buying, selling, or just keeping up with maintenance, knowing the true condition of your home’s plumbing is key.

🌫️ The Invisible Threat: Is Your Home Safe?
You can’t see it, smell it, or taste it—but Radon is a serious health risk that is often overlooked during the home-buying process.
In this photo, we are setting up a Continuous Radon Monitor. This high-tech device stays in a home for 48 hours to track the levels of radon gas in the air. Why is this so important? Because Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can seep in through cracks in the foundation and is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. 🛡️💨
At Elevate Inspection Group, we believe you shouldn't have to guess about the safety of the air your family breathes. Whether you’re moving into a new place or have been in your home for years, testing is the only way to know your levels.
If the levels are high, don't panic! It is a fixable problem. But you have to know the numbers first.
Protect your peace of mind. Add a Radon test to your next inspection! 🏠✨
