106 years of life. 🤍 What a blessing.

My Aunt Althea passed away this week at 106 years old, and I can’t stop thinking about how grateful I am that she lived long enough to see me get married last November. That is a memory I’ll cherish forever.

If you knew her, you knew “Puddin’.” 🥹 Everyone called her Puddin’, and somehow, we were ALL Puddin’ to her too. I’ll miss hearing that sweet voice call us by that name more than I can put into words.

Aunt Althea taught me something just by the way she lived: live out loud and remain cheerful. She found reasons to smile, reasons to praise, and reasons to thank the Lord every day for keeping her here. That kind of joy and gratitude stays with you, and I hope I carry a little of hers with me for the rest of my life.

I wish I had gotten a picture with her at our wedding, but she wasn’t able to stay until the end. I’m so thankful I have these videos to look back on. One is from her 104th birthday celebration at La Louisianne, and the other is from that same year when The Jennifer Hudson Show sang “Happy Birthday” to her. 🥹🤍 They capture just a little bit of the joy that surrounded her.

106 years on this earth. So much love, so much faith, and so much joy.

Truly a life well lived. 🤍

Last week, hubby and I were invited by Netflix Film Creator Partnerships to a private screening and dinner in Dallas for Why Did I Get Married Again? Then last night in Hollywood, we were doing DOUBLE DUTY, walking the blue carpet as invited guests AND interviewing the cast! 🎤💙

Y’all… I was NERVOUS. 😭😂 I’ve been blessed to be in some incredible rooms, but being handed the mic and becoming the interviewer while ALSO attending?! Completely different assignment! 😂

But hubby said, “Let’s go!” And because he always supports me, I pushed past the nerves and went for it. ❤️

Honestly, I can’t think of a better film for Dear Future Wifey to support. It’s HILARIOUS and equally profound about love, marriage, and how we get to forever. ❤️ That’s at the heart of our mission to help people do relationships better, increase marriage rates, and decrease divorce.

God keeps stretching the vision, and I’m grateful. 🥹❤️

Plot twist: Neither the man NOR the woman is the prize. THE PRIZE IS JESUS. 🙌🏽🔥

Social media can debate all day about who’s “the prize,” men or women, but today’s message brought it right back to the Word. There’s really no debate when Scripture has already settled it:

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14

Today, I had the joy of watching my hubby preach at Word of Truth Family Church and pour into the singles, and I couldn’t have been more proud of him. ❤️ So grateful to Eben Conner for creating space for messages like this to be poured into God’s people. 🙏🏽

The message was clear: stop allowing culture to convince you that another person is the ultimate prize. Whether single, dating, engaged, or married, our greatest pursuit should always be CHRIST.

A husband isn’t the prize.
A wife isn’t the prize.
A relationship status isn’t the prize.
JESUS IS. 🙌🏽

And when Christ is truly the prize, we stop measuring our worth by who chooses us, who pursues us, or whether we have a ring on our finger. We can press toward the mark knowing our identity, purpose, fulfillment, and calling are already found in Him. ❤️

So proud of you, hubby, for preaching a message that cuts through the noise and points people back to the One who matters most. 🙌🏽❤️

My first job after college was at Uncommon Excellence Boys and I met my first friend Jamila Wright in NYC when I started working there. It was my first time returning in over 10 years.

This week’s Dear Future Wifey episode was filled with gems, but what made it extra special was how Lisa Nichols | Impact Speaker poured into me during the conversation in a way only God could have orchestrated. She spoke life into prayers she never even knew I prayed. 🥹🙏🏾 A beautiful reminder that God knows exactly who to use, what to say, and when to say it.
