When the Muscle Shoals Area Street Rods Club was founded in 1971 there were only 20 cars to show. No Thus the club was formed to showcase their talents.

The Muscle Shoals Area Street Rods was originally formed in the July of 1971 by a group of young hot rodders who all drove pre 1948 automobiles. The Club was formed to promote the fellowship & enjoyment of street rod owners. Many of the original members enjoyed racing at local drag strips and then showing their cars at local venues. The original membership was about 8 members and of these 4 are still active in the club. The Muscle Shoals Area Street Rods are the oldest club of its kind in the State of Alabama and now boasts over 65 members, with cars dating from 1972 back to the early 30’s, from jalopies to one of a kind customs. Each year they hold an annual car show the 1st weekend of June at Spring Park in Tuscumbia, AL. At this event Street Rodders from all 50 states are welcome to come show off their custom built car or truck while enjoying good food and great entertainment. Throughout the year the Street Rods have given to the Cerebral Palsy Center, Lauderdale Christian Children's Home, the Salvation Army and other organizations and local families in need.
