Chris Small Realtor
Realtor licensed with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Midlands Real Estate. I am an SC native, born and raised in the piedmont of South Carolina.
Growing up, I helped my grandfather on the farm and with his bulldozing and grading business. I developed his grit at a young age. Since moving to Columbia, I have lived in several parts of town including Earlewood, Rosewood, Forest Acres, and Irmo. I've formed community throughout the midlands. I have a passion for helping people with the utmost integrity, respect, and excellence. I started my career in law enforcement then later received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from USC and my MBA from the same. When I'm not helping clients find the home of their dreams, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and kids starting our family homestead.

"My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me. ”
John 10:27 CSB
Owning sheep has really changed my perspective of Jesus' words when he's calling us sheep who follow him and know his voice. My sheep ignore the kids and come running when I call them.

Darkness isn't just uncomfortable. It causes pain, fatigue, fear.
Jesus called himself the Light of the World in the middle of a city that had just gone dark, and the invitation was simple: follow me and you won't walk in it.
I've spent enough of my life quietly managing things instead of bringing them into the light. That's not strength, that's just a longer road to the same place.
If you expose it to Jesus, he covers it. If you cover it yourself, it gets exposed eventually anyway.

Sharpened skills and earned trust last night.
Our Mountain Lion patrol spent the evening on Outdoor Skills Core Step 5: Edge Tools. They learned knife safety, the safety (blood) circle, how to properly pass and receive a blade, and how to carve with control. This isn't a participation badge. The Woodsman Card is a competency award. Every boy who earned it demonstrated real skill, not just attendance.
Fox and Hawk patrols built the same foundation at their level: awareness, nomenclature, and safe handling, so they're ready when it's their turn to carry.
Proud of how seriously these young men took the responsibility that comes with a tool like this.

Cold river, warm fellowship. Iron sharpens iron, even on a tube. Spent the morning with Trail Life troops from across the Midlands, watching herons and muskrats along the banks while the boys built friendships one cannonball at a time. This is what boyhood should look like.

Compass in hand. Map spread out. Having fun. This is what Trail Life looks like.
Troop SC-0110 is built around real outdoor skill, real adventure, and real character, all rooted in a Christ-centered foundation.
Boys ages 5 to 17 learning to navigate, to lead, and to show up for each other in the field, not just in a classroom.
If you've got a son who needs more of this in his week, we'd love to have him out with us.
DM me for details on our next meeting.

Dinner with friends last night turned into way too much Westridge Beef on the cutting board.
Not mad about it. That just means leftovers for days.
When the beef's this good, you don't hold back on portions.
