Sandhill Crane (Antigone canadensis) takes a break from grazing in a marshy area. 🪶 Such a beautiful bird we are happy to see each year! Do you have sandhill cranes in your area?

🚂 The Union Pacific 4014 Big Boy in West Chicago, IL 6/3/2026. This locomotive is the only example still in operation of a type of steam locomotive that is the largest ever built: the UPR Big Boy 🤯 It weighs 1.2 million pounds and is 133ft long! There used to be 25 of them chugging out there: the remaining others can be visited but they do not run. The boiler holds 10,500 gallons of water which is enough water to fill a swimming pool measuring 14-feet wide by 28-feet long by 3 ½-feet deep. 4014 is making its way East. Did you see Big Boy this year?
