DO YOU ZERO GAP? ✂️

Zero gapping isn’t just about making one tool cut as close as possible—it’s about making your entire system work together.

I call it the Small Jumps Concept:

Shaver ➡️ Trimmer ➡️ Clipper

Your shaver needs to cut close enough to erase what your trimmer leaves behind. Your trimmer needs to cut close enough to connect seamlessly with your clipper.

The smaller the jump between each tool, the easier it is to remove lines, create smoother transitions, and work more efficiently.

Don’t just zero gap one tool. Build a system.

One of the biggest differences between an average fade and a GREAT fade is how you move the clipper. 💈

Think about using an eraser on a pencil line. You don’t keep attacking the entire line—you work back and forth, little by little, until it disappears.

Fading works the same way.

And just like a pencil, the harder you put that initial line in, the harder it’s going to be to erase.

This is where I prefer a taper blade. It’s more forgiving and gives you more control when the hair is growing in every direction. Instead of fighting the growth pattern, learn how to work WITH it.
